Konkuk University, which is conveniently located on Hwayangdong in Seoul, is one of the leading private universities in Korea. The Campus is not only relatively spacious, considering it's located on downtown Seoul, but easy of access from Seoul Subway Line 2 or Line 7. Besides the magnificent Ilgam Lake with beautiful skyline of cityscape shows me a fantastic scenery. The university campus in downtown has a great charm for urban sketchers.

mother under treatment

Dr. Pei Young Joon is famous all over the world for his therapeutic touch(TT) treatment.
He is the president of The Korean Traditional Health Management Association.
My mother is taking his treatment for days. She's getting better.
Hoping her full recovery I sketched the scene today. pen and pastels, A 4

A few days ago, I visited some village with a historic background walking along Seoul Fortress Wall. Seongbukdong and Myeongnyundong villages are located close to each other and have a lot of beautiful sceneries. The scenery of old village remaining in downtown is the valuable subject for urban sketchers.

at Seoul Fortress Wall(서울 성곽), Seongbukdong, Seoul

pne, pencil, watercolor, A 4
I walked a while along Seoul Fortress Wall of Seongbukdong and sketched two there. Someday I may sketch the view looking down the city. Seoul has so many attractive places to sketch, which I find every time when I sketch. Walking the way lots of people were enjoying the sun light and fresh air. You can have more  informations about the place here.

Five sketchers enjoyed drawings here and there in Seoul Zoo with middle and high school students who came for outdoor painting. The sweet smell of the breeze added another joy while sketching!

one sketch at Gongdeok-Dong, Mapo-Ku, Seoul

pen, soft pastels, A 4
It was terribly windy. I had to get on a bus at Gongdeok-Dong across the Mapo Police Station.  Before walking across the road I saw the vine wrapped the street tree to the sky. The traffic light, street light pole, and electric pole created a scene worthwhile to be drawn. Because I didn't keep the mat I borrowed some paper box to sit in the very shop where I sat under the window. After finishing I got on a bus. The skyline of Mapo-ku looked so different a lot from the shapes of 10 years ago that I felt as if I were in a foreign land.

sisters arranging flower at church, Seoul

pencil, A 4
Years ago when I visited a church I could see sisters who were busy with arranging flower at an altar. They didn't have noticed that I was sketching them. I sketched several ones successively. The gesture of picking, cutting, and setting the beautiful flower in vase was so calm and touching. I was lucky to catch the scenes. Though I feel some guilty to post these ones without permission.....
