Last Saturday, I go to S university hospital in Daehaak-ro and drew microscope.

금남시장이 보이며 차로 중간에 이런 공간이 있습니다. 여기서 만나기로 합니다. 머리 위호 추석맞이 행사 플래카드가 있습니다. 오늘 지나다가 찍었어요. 금호전철역에서는 5분정도 걸어야 될 듯싶습니다. (bench where we meet)

그 벤치가 왼쪽에 있고 건너편에 금남시장 파라솔들이 보입니다. 버스 정류장은 양쪽 가까이에 있습니다. (parasols along the Keumnam Market) 예정했던 큰길 건너 재개발 예정지역도 잠시 들러보았는데 길이 좁아서 차는 어려울 것같습니다. 버스나 전철을 이용하는 것이 좋겠구요. 그 동네 입구에 유료로 보이는 주차장이 있기는 합니다.

I sketched sunlit parasols on the deck of restaurant 'Hans Deli park located in front of botanical garden. The restaurant opened last May newly. While drawing I could smell delicious food cooking.

I painted this miniature car at amusement park. It moved back and forth for minutes for 1000 won(80 cents). I thought it was somewhat expensive.

This bench is inside of the botanical garden for people to take photos. Usually kids from kindergarten take photos. Under the plate carps were swimming.

October sketchcrawl

지난 스케치 크롤에서 한달에 한번 정도 스케치를 하지는 의견들이 있어 시월의 어느 토요일에 모여볼까합니다. 장소는 제가 저번에 스케치해본 금호동의 금남시장주변과 큰 길건너에 있으며 TV 다큐 72시간에 나온 재개발예정지역을 가보려고 합니다. 세째주 토요일(17일) 혹은 네째주 토요일(24일) 중 좋으신 날로 의견을 모아주시기 바랍니다. 전철로는 금호역인 것으로 기억되며 버스로는 금남시장에서 내리면 큰나무에 벤치가 있는 곳이 로타리 중앙에 있었습니다. 그곳에서 모여 주변을 스케치하고 점심도 먹고 길을 건너가면 좋겠습니다. 시간은 오전 10 시 30분 이 좋겠습니다. 많은 참석 바랍니다.

(Well have October sketchcrawl on the third or fourth saturday. The sketching place will be around Kumnam market and the old village across the road which is to be reconstructed and was broadcasted on some TV program - Docu 72 hours months ago. We can meet under a big tree with benches near Kumnam bus station. You can arrive there by walk for minutes from Kumho station of subway no. 3. After sketching around the market and having lunch we'll go across the road to the village. Please leave comments about which date would be favorable. We'll meet at 10:30 am. I sketched buildings and people around the Daehag-ro. The street is always alive. Seoul Nat'l University had located there before it moved to the new campus at Kwanak-ku.

Daehagro(University street) has various shapes in the style of architecture from early modern to contemporary ones. There located a lot of performing places for plays. Young people gather and enjoy the atmosphere of the street. The place was surrounded by Naksan fortress wall on the hill. The scenery from the wall was real fantastic. We enjoyed this crawl very much.

When I passed the alley at Myungdong yesterday I saw the small shop attached to the wall of parking lot. The man was selling raw or boiled and roasted sweet potatoes. Three pieces of mirror hung on the wall caught my eyes. I thought that he might have wanted his shop to look broad. I finished sitting on a chair of the grocery across the little shop.

Months ago I sketched the The Bank of Korea at Myungdong and the Anglican church near City Hall of Seoul. I finished the drawing by broad washes not describing the details.

Yesterday I went to Guri city by bus no. 201 transferring at Chongro 3-ga. At bus depot I sketched two pieces: one was done at the backyard where one white cock(but I drew two poses) was pecking on the grass. I wondered why it was there and who cared of. The overpass seen over is the Guri-Pangyo expressway.

These sketches were done in Seoul grand park and Children's grand park. These days parks are very calm. I think it's caused by 'flu' or the beginning of semester in schools. Anyway I enjoyed the quiet atmosphere though the weather was so hot that I couldn't stand under the sunlight. But the shade under the trees was fantastic with cool breeze.
