Urban Sketchers Global 24hr Sketchwalk and #57th World Wide SketchCrawl around Myeong-dong

I started sketching at small space(traffic island) in front of big department, Sinsegye and the Bank of Korea. There were bicycles for citizens for free. Peoople could use any time. I saw people came to use it and bring back after use.

Namdaemun Market began to be busy though it was before noon. In front of Samick Fashion Town an advertising guy who was wearing Korean traditional clothing for catching eye of customers kept shouting "Visit the shoe shops in this building!"

It was fresh to see resting stools for tired shoppers at Young Plaza, Myeong-dong. 

In busy downtown such as Myeong-dong it's very rare to find this kind of rooftop garden, 12F of UNESCO House. The place was changed from machinery room into roof garden. It's a very calm and nice place to look around the urban scenery having tea in and out of Baerongnamu Cafe.  24.5 x 31 cm

We displayed our works at the '1898 Myeongdong Cathedral'.

Myeong-dong may be the commercial center of Seoul. It's crowded with visitors. It's always crowded with people. You can guess by the location of big departments such as Lotte, Sinsegae and Namdaemun market, the Bank of Korea, Korean Air Lines, cathedral church and so on. We sketches this area several times. But there are lots of subjects untouched still. Buildings keep remodeling. We will love to go there any time for capturing new hot features.

며칠전 연필그림 동아리 모임이 있었는데 거기서 몇장 그린것입니다

회원중 한분인 구작가님의 개인전이 다른 회원님의 화실에서 열렸는데 어찌 알고 매스컴에서 벌떼처럼 찾아와서 인터뷰중~

               Seoul Station was familiar to me long time ago .
               My home town is Busan,lcame to Seoul to go to
               University. So I used to go Seoul Station to go home
               a couple of times a year.
               But ,nowadays   I usually traveld by my car,I didn't
               have a chance to go to Seoul Station.
               Yesterday l'd like to go inside of old S.S,but l have not
               enough time. I can only hope for the next time.
               And.....
               It's very impressive to hear live piano performance
               while a sketching

                서울역은 내게 매우 친근한 곳이었다
                부산에서 대학을 위해 서울로 온 나는 일년에 두어번 서울역을
                가곤했다.이제는 주로 차로 여행을 다니면서 서울역은 점점
                갈 기회가 없었다. 오랜만에 구역사를 보니 정다운 친구를
                 만난듯 반가웠으나 시간관계로 안으로 들어가 보지 못해서
                 아쉬웠다.다음 기회로...

                 그림을 그리면서 듣는 live 피아노 연주는 무척 인상적이었다.

                  지난주말  시댁모임으로 2박3일 제주에  다녀왔다
                  놀멍 쉬멍..애월숙소에서 한담해안산책로와 연결된 올레길을
                  걸으며 바람과 햇살에 따라 변하는 바다색과 풍경을 화폭에
                  담고 싶었는데..동행이 있어 맘껏 그리지 못하고 차곡차곡 마음에
                  담았다 .또다시 다음을 기약하며...
                 -- 담번에는 확 풀어 헤쳐진 바다를 그리고 싶다 --

이번 서울로7017은 그릴거리가 많아 좋았습니다. 따뜻한 날씨도 어반스케치하기에 정말 좋았습니다.
아쉬운게 있었다면 제가 오후 일정이 있어서 그리고 난 후 다함께 모이는 모임에 참여하지 못했다는 것입니다. 다른분들 그림도 보고 싶었는데....
숭례문 그림은 스케치까지만 하고 채색및 마무리는 이후 집에서 진행했습니다...

Seoul Station is one of the most favorite sketching subjects for me. I often sketched the famous historic station several times including the 30th Worldwide Sketchcrawl on April, 2011. It was very fine last Saturday, we Seoul urban sketchers met at Food Court on the 3rd floor inside Seoul Station building for sketching around the station building and Seoullo 7017, new attraction for citizens and tourists. The Seoullo 7017 project is completed five months ago, that promotes the regeneration of Seoul Station area by remodelling the old Seoul Station overpass construction into pedestrian walkaways. There are a variety of facilities along Seoullo 7017, including an information center, cafes, gardens, and stages. Seoullo 7017 itself is open all day, every day for many visitors to enjoy at their leisure.

At first, I began sketching here and there in and out of the station building from a new perspective, looking for the new scenes I didn't draw before. After lunch, I walked up to the Seoullo 7017 walkaways and enjoyed sketching the attractive panoramic scenes of downtown Seoul. Many pedestrians and children came up to me and were very interested in sketching on the spot quickly in the crowd. I was attracted by the colorful buildingscapes and enjoyed the lively sketch time as if I were floating in the air.

서울역과 그 주변은 명실상부한 어반 스케치의 중심부라 하겠습니다.

구역사(문화역서울 284)와 현대식 복합민자역사 컴플렉스 하모니~~

날로 치솟는 주변 고층빌딩들과 대비되는 철길 주변의 근대 모습들,

고가도로를 개조해 Seoullo 7017로 새로 태어난 명물 공중보행로는

어반 스케쳐들의 꾸준한 작업을 위해 마련된 공간이라고 생각합니다.

Typography Biennale

Old station changed to the Seoul history and culture museum. The 5th International Typography Biennale was held yesyerday. I enjoyed the exellent works and drew one of them. I am waiting the next sketch meetup ^^

Seoul Station

Old Seoul Station building! I went to Seoul Station which is a place of memories of many people. It was the best place to sketch. I'll come back next time.         

오래된 서울역건물!많은 사람들의 추억의 장소인 서울역을 갔다.스케치하기에  최적의 장소였다.다음에  다시 와야겠다

Autumn at Seoul Station was beautiful. The former station building was renamed as Culture Station Seoul 284 and was used as an exhibition hall. Instead of the new Seoul station, I drew Seoul Station in my memory. The scenery surrounding Seoul's scenic beauty stirred up the scenery of Seoul. I wanted to paint 360 ° panoramic, but I just sketched out one side.

밑에서만 보다가 내려다 본 서울역사 주변은 아름다웠다.보는 곳마다 그림이 되는 풍경에 꼭 다시 오리라 생각해 보았다.고가도로위 산책로에서 스케치 할때는 피아노 음악 때문인지 더 몰입해서 좋았고~~ 끝나고 간단한 커피타임도 즐거웠다.
