A week ago, BH Yoo and I could join a group tour going to Da Nang(다낭) and Hoi An(호이안), Vietnam. Tourists were 24. We travelled two cities during three days. Because we visited many places I can't remember well them exactly if I didn't draw the spots even in rough sketches. It was my first visit so I was impressed by the street scenery or colorful cityscapes or various people whom I met.  Especially the Bana Hills(바나힐) on top of mountain and the Hoi An old town gave strong impression to me. We couldn't get rid of raining for the coming typhoon. If not I would have draw more than these. I want to go there again if possible in order to sketch all those memorable features staying for long. Just I hope the weather will be fine!

설레인 마음으로 여행하는 베트남의 인상은 북적거리면서도 신비로웠습니다.
비와 태풍으로 명소 스케치 환경이 열악했지만 좋은 훈련이었습니다.
칼러풀한 호이안 올드타운과 바나힐의 환상적 세계는 동화 속으로 빠져듭니다.
다낭과 호이안은 다시 가서 오래 머물며 그리고 싶은 곳~~ 스케치의 보물상자 같습니다.

Rainy, , , , rainy day was it. What's worse it was blowing by typhoon. And what's the worst we heard that the tourists of next day couldn't go up there by cable for the severe rain.

YH Lee and I joined a Da Nang & Hoian package tour group. It was our first visit. I expected to see and capture lots of scene as possible. But it was rainy nearly all day by typhoon. Guider didn't give much time for the rain and compact schedules. Various temples and streets looked similar to ours or different. Hoi An ancient town was great where I hoped to travel again staying days for sketching more. Several days were too short to know their history and culture completely. Hope them to keep their treasures well.

지난 며칠을 베트남의 다낭, 호이안 패키지 투어에 참여했습니다. 태풍이 오는 우중이라 가이드가 선물한 비닐 우비가 몹시도 요긴했어요. 게다가 농이라는 베트남 원추형 모자도 주셔서 비바람에도 걸어 다닐 만했습니다. 그러나 비 피할 곳이 마땅치 않고 워낙 가는 곳마다 인파가 많아 어려웠구요. 바나 힐이라는 곳은 1600 미터위 고산에 만들어진 프랑스 풍 건물들이 이색적이었습니다. 역시나 심한 비로 파리 호텔앞의 파라솔 아래서 잠시 기록을 해보았으나 심한 안개로 건물도 언듯 언듯 보일 정도였구요. 맑은 날 만나기가 하늘에 별따기가 아닐까 싶었습니다. 식민지 시절 시원한 곳을 찾아 건설한 프랑스인들로 인해 생겨난 공간에 이제 아이들 놀이 시설도 들어서서 내외국인들의 방문이 엄청나더군요. 그 높은 곳에 케이블 카만 20 여분 타며 내려다 본 계곡이 장관이었으나 그나마 내려 올때는 유리창이 습기로 꽉 덮혀 아무 것도 못 보았어요. 그런 것이 추억이 되겠지요. 

유네스코 문화 유산에 등재된 호이안 구시가지는 볼만했어요. 가까운 호텔에 숙박하면서 며칠간 거기만 돌아 다니며 스케치했으면 참 좋겠다 싶더군요. 기억에 남는 장소였습니다. 

여러끼 식사도 만족스러웠고 사람들도 친절했어요. 2시간 선택 마사지 하는 동안 나와서 길을 걸었는데 압구정, 등촌 칼국수, 소곱창 등등 한글 간판이 많아 우습기도 하고 반갑기도 하더군요.  재미난 여행 했습니다.

Last Saturday, for the 65th World Wide SketchCrawl event, Seoul sketches gathered to sketch on the Ogansugyo Bridge around the DDP(Dongdaemun Design Plaza).
It was a pleasant but rather chilly day. Although only a few members participated, the sketching subjects were always diverse and rich, so it was a good atmosphere for sketching. DDP is famous for its huge architecture as a new tourist attraction in downtown Seoul. Since I have often sketched here, all the scenes are familiar, but the colorful architecture of various scales and vibrant streets are always renew my mind.
I drew various commercial buildings around Cheonggyecheon in the morning. And after lunch, I sketched new scenes with the huge landmark DDP of Dongdaemun.
The area around Dongdaemun History & Culture Park, which contains the history of Seoul's life culture, is an excellent place to provide vivid scenes to Seoul sketches all the time. My posting is late because I traveled abroad right after this sketching event.

DDP 스케치를 마치고 곧바로 해외여행을 다녀오느라 포스팅이 늦었습니다.

Barcelona 10월 21일-27일간 스케치

스페인 바르셀로나에서 무사히 27일 귀국했습니다

카탈루냐 독립 시위가 과격해짐에 따라 우리 외교부에서는 

카탈루냐 주 지역을 여행 유의에서 여행 자제인 2단계로 격상했지만

제가 방문한 21일부터는 다행히 그 분위기가 수그러들었습니다

카탈루냐의 독립운동에 대해서는 바르셀로나에 오기 전까지 아는 바가 없었는데,

오래 전부터 카탈루냐는 역사적, 문화적 차이 등을 이유로 

스페인으로부터 독립을 원했다고 합니다.

바르셀로나의 피카소 박물관에서 작품 설명이 카탈루냐어, 스페인어, 영어 순으로

나열되어 있고 스페인 식 광장(스퀘어) 형태를 기피하여 도시 설계를 했으며 

주요 웹사이트의 도메인이 es(에스파냐)가 아닌 cat(카탈루냐)으로 끝나는 등 

그들 스스로 스페인과 분리시켜왔습니다

단지 카탈루냐주에서 세금을 많이 내는 것 때문이라면 명분이 너무 약한 것이 아닌가

생각했었는데 그 뿐만 아니라 스페인 최악의 독재자의 만행이 자행되었던 

흔적이 바르셀로나 곳곳에도 있었습니다.

(이 부분은 저녁 시간 짧은 도보 투어를 통해 알게 되었습니다)

일정이 짧았지만 피카소 박물관도 둘러볼 수 있었고, 하루의 자유 시간동안

바르셀로나 주요 랜드마크들을 돌아볼 정도의 짬이 있어서 아주 좋았습니다.

동대문과 DDP 2019년 10월 26일 토

오전에 일이 있어
오후 1시가 다되어 동대문 역에 도착하였다

오간수문은 한양도성의 동쪽 흥인지문과 광희문 사이의 물길을 관리하기위해 놓았던 오간수문 지난 건널목에서 동대문 쪽으로 바라보니
이대부속병원이 있던 자리에 역사문화관이 들어서고
건물 사이로 북한산이 살포롬이 얼굴을 내밀고 있다
오늘따라 북한산은 그리움으로 다가온다

오늘은 날이 어쩐지 겨울을 재촉하는 듯 날씨가 춥다기 보다는 쓸쓸한 느낌을 자아낸다.

마주치는 사람들의 눈길도 흔들리는듯 어깨를 움추리고 걸음을 재촉한다.
DDP안에서도 따스한 매장안에는 사람들이 넘쳐난다.
DDP는 동대문 디자인 플라자라는 이름답게 발상의 전환이 가미된 디자인이 
소품이 넘쳐난다.
사람의 이목을 끄는 것이 제품의 성능이 기본으로 디자인의 개념이 가미되어야하나보다
참 세상이 바뀌고 있는 것이 실감난다.

나에게 그림을 그림그린다는 것은 무엇일까? 

그림은 나에게 세상을 보는 눈과 자세히 보는 법을 가르쳐주었다. 

모든것이 구도로 색상으로 다가올때도 있었다. 

좀더 아름다운 세상을 그리고 싶은데 아직은 실력은 물론 표현력이 아주 많이 부족하다. 

다음번에 좀더 나은 그림을 그릴수 있을까? 

언제나의 숙제이다. 

11월 모임 안내

안녕하세요! 11월 모임 안내드립니다.

일시 : 2019년 11월 16일 토요일, 오전 10시 30분 부터 오후 4시까지
장소 : 서울 남부 터미널 안과 밖을 그리며 모임은 터미널 안 대합실에서 갖습니다.

남부 터미널은 거의 하루 종일 혼잡하며 대합실 안에 의자가 있어 그리는 환경은 좋습니다.

차가와지는 날씨에 건강히 지내시고 다음 달에 뵙겠습니다.

It was somewhat cold all day. But all the area was alive with visitors. I began sketching on the Ogansu bridge of Cheonggyecheon. Things to draw were endless. The man on the motor bike showed interest in drawing telling why he became to draw left side though he wanted to draw the right. I couldn't answer for him. After lunch I walked into the DDP. which was crowded with people for the architectural fair or music performance. Visitors seemed to enjoy talking with friends enjoying the autumn weather. As it always has been time was short. Leaving objects to be captured for next visits we finished October sketch meetup. Thank you for joing us!

날씨가 많이 차가왔지만 동대문 주변은 언제나 그랬듯이 활발한 모습이었어요. 오간수교 위에는 그래도 햇살이 있어 주변의 이모 저모를 담았습니다. 위만 그리느라 청계천의 멋진 모습은 차후로 미루었구요. 아무래도 날씨가 찬지라 물을 그리기는 내키지가 않았나 봅니다. 점심 후 디디피로 건너가 커다란 건물과 빛의 움직임이 만드는 모습음 경사로에서 그려 본 것이 기억에 남습니다. 새로 오신 강연정님 반가왔어요. 서정화님의 브라질 커피도 너무 맛있었구요. 감사드립니다!

On fine days I visited parks in Seoul and Osan city. Children's Grand Park is one of my favorite sketching places. But the arboretum was my second visit. It took nearly two hours from my house by bus and subway train. For being tired I slept for a while and passed two stops. So I had to get back, which took more minutes anyhow. The arboretum was crowded with visitors most of whom were families with kids. The inside was broad and easy for walk. On the way back to the entrance gate I found this water. It was beautiful by the contrast of light. If not the distance matter I'd like to go there often. 

요즘 날씨가 너무 좋습니다. 얼마 전에 늘 가던 어린이대공원에 갔어요. 후문 입구 근처의 놀이동산에 들러 어린이들의 재잘거리는 소리도 듣고 신나게 오르내리는 놀이기구를 보며 한장 그렸습니다. 이번에는 너무 복잡한 청룡열차와 기둥들에 얽매이지 않으려고 붓으로만 자유롭게 그려보았어요. 

어제 오산대역에서 가까운 물향기 수목원에 들렀습니다. 서울에서 가는 시간이 걸려서 그렇지 역에서 가까운 거리라 좋았어요. 전에 어느 분의 전시회 보러 갔을 때에는 여기 저기 들러 보지 못했는데 이번에는 한시간 반 정도 걸어다니며 좀 보았습니다. 아마도 다음에 가면 못본 곳을 또 발견하지 않을까 생각합니다. 나오는 길에서 만난 물이 매우 인상적이어서 한장 그려보았습니다. 많은 가족들이 평화로이 즐기는 모습이 아름다와서 더불어 즐거운 시간을 보냈습니다.
