two sketches on 2004, Seoul

On 2004 I sketched around Cheonggyechun, Seoul. The Chunggyechun was redeveloped. We can see clean water flows and walk along the stream now instead of over-highway covered under which polluted water ran before. But the low-rised buildings are still there waiting for site remodelling still. The above part of Saeun Shopping Center was removed for the open space for citizens. We can see the green lawn. The drawing was remained as a record.

at wedding ceremony, June sketchcrawl

They're waiting for carrying the bride to bridegrom's house after wedding using a palanquin on their shoulders following the custom. But it's just for showing these days. It was lucky for us to see the traditional wedding ceremony though the procedure and tools were omitted and transformed to some degree.

wedding ceremony at Namsan Korean style house village

Some young people like to wed in a traditional style. So we could participate in such a wedding fortunately. Of course we sketched celebrating and enjoying the process. Foreigners looked it out of curiosity, took photos. Bride and bridegroom were bowing to each other.

working husband and sleeping wife

Today I sketched these three ones at Naejadong, Chongro-ku, Seoul. I drew them before. Her sleeping pose caught my eye at first. I felt happiness seeing the old couple.

in front of shops

Last year I sketched in front of a shop selling goods for buddhists. The shops locate near the Chogye temple at Gyunji-dong, Chongro-ku, Seoul. The left shop was a take-out coffee shop. When I passed the coffee shop 10 days ago, I found it closed being demolished. So this drawng could be left as a record.
