Sketchcrawl at Bukchon Traditional Village

풍문여고 정문 앞에서 그린 그림입니다. 한 분도 약속시간에 늦지 않으시더군요.^^

정독도서관 근처의 어느 가게 앞에 있는 연꽃이 너무 예뻐서.. 멈추어 서서 그렸습니다.

이렇게 식물들을 잘 키우는 사람들이 참 부러워요. 우리집엔 화분이 들어오기만 하면 금방 시들시들 하다가... 없어집니다.

고미술품 가게 앞에 내어놓은 석상들을 그려보았습니다.

오늘 끝까지 함께 못 하고 일찍 떠나서 죄송했어요. 좋은 시간들 가지셨나 궁금하네요.

9월 스케치크롤을 기다리며...

August sketchcrawl at Bugchon village

At Gahoe-dong of Bugchon village the shops in street seemed to try to remain the roof line of Korean style house. Most shops or galleries in that village were pretty and had antique atmosphere. I sketched one dress shop.

In the backyard of a noodle restaurant there was a movable pulley for lifting the goods. The man was packing the used boxes for recycling. He loaded them into his tricycle. The pulley reminded me of well used in old days.

I sketched this one at Insadong on the way going to the appointed place for August sketchcrawl. The homeless was lying down on the stone bench at 10:30 am; he was drunken already. Behind of him two men were busy with fixing the placard on the wall of gallery.

Ongnyeon-dong side street

20F watercolor

It is side street scenery of sunset.
As urbanization is gone, side streets disappear gradually.
Laugh, of children who play on the side street, disappears together.

street scene at Eulji-ro

I sketched the street scene in front of Printemps department at Eulji-ro last March 15 this year. The building of slanted roof is where old Kukilkwan(restaurant) located. It was remodelled.

Three days later I made this drawing with fun laying out randomly what I've seen.

Child celebrated mathematics science creative mind examination.
Took examination at Gyenam elementary school near Yangcheon-gu office though this time is 2nd test. Body was likely to warm up in sunbeam while wait for two hours.
To be painting a father which wait sitting on bench a bird stand model together.

I sketched this sliding doors at Kwanghwamoon station of subway no. 5. The doors were installed for the safety of the passengers and controlled automatically by train control system. Notice for the opening in emergency was posted on top right.

Yesterday I went to Chongno District office for submitting an objection related with the parking violation. The District office building had been used originally for the Susong Elementary school in the center of Seoul, where I had attended for two years before I had moved to another place. Therefore I recollect the old days whenever I visit there. After I finished the business I stepped out of the elevator I saw this scene. At first a man near fifties was busy with shining the shoes. I hesitated to sketch him because I didn't know whether he'd like being sketched within a distance of 1-2 m. While I was thinking a minute he rose up from his stool to deliver 7-8 pairs of shoes holding with his 10 fingers to their owners before the closing time. I took that chance to sketch though the shoe shiner wasn't there.

라벨붙이는 문제(about labelling)

더운 여름에 모두 힘드시지요? 저도 스케치 거의 못하고 있습니다.
다름 아니오라 지난번에도 라벨붙이는 문제에 대하여 공지글을 올렸습니다만서도
어느 정도 원칙이 있어야 될 듯하여 다시 한번 협조와 안내 말씀을 드립니다.
지난번 스케치 크롤도 여러가지로 반복이 많이 되었습니다.

앞으로는 'sketchcrawl'로 통일을 하였으면 합니다. 개인 홈피와 달리 특정한 장소나, 공통된 주제위주로 정해지면 라벨이 한없이 늘어나서 오히려 골라 보기 어려운 경우를 예방할 것같습니다. 그래야 한 라벨을 클릭해서 여러 그림을 볼수 있으리라고 생각합니다.

라벨에 자신의 이름을 쓰면 그 작가가 올린 그림들을 모두 볼수 있으니 그것은 권하고 싶습니다.
앞으로 지나치게 중복되거나 세분화되는 것을 피하기 위하여 관리자가 정리할 경우도 있을 것입니다. 되도록이면 재료나, 장소, 공통된 주제 위주로 라벨을 붙여주시기 바랍니다.

남은 여름 건강하셔요.

(In labelling, it's recommended to write the special places, medium, common subjects in order to escape that the labels are too diversified endlessly and to unify under same subject such as 'sketchcrawl'. If possible it's convenient to lessen the unnecessary lagels to unify the labels with the previously posted nouns. Wait-cafe whoever

Child did delicious espresso a cup at cafe while child takes academy class.
Because was insipid that have sat alone, drew two sketches.
Could forget the hot summer for a moment delicious espresso a cup for.
Body is likely to ripen as occur outside.
Want to call the fall. ^^

women in subway

Days ago I sketched two women in subway.

I began to draw the contour and they moved.

I couldn't finish. But it was enough to describe the figure.

at Jungreung village, Seoul

I sketched at Jungreung village. It would be reconstructed soon. Because it locateed near Bughan mountain, the scenery was beautiful though the houses were very old and shabby.

Choongju Lake side pension

went to the Lake side Pension in Choong joo city to meet a classmate of my elementry school .She runs this Pension together with her daughter.। We, with my wife , talked about painting and traced back in old memories throughout the night. Magulli, korean rice wine , fresh air and refreshing breeze made us all happy. I want to be there again soon.Thanks,my फ्रेंड!

Busan Station

Last week I went to Busan by express railway,KTX.While waiting for Mr.D. .O.Chung ,the former president of DYK Motor company in China, I sketched above newly rebuilt building.After lunch we met Mr. Kim who is now in confinement at Busan detention house.He looked very healthy. .But his laughing troubled my mind. I prayed for his earliest possible being liberated.
Gloomy and rainy day.

Summer Vacation in Jejudo Island

On the way of Jeju Olle trekking.

아이들을 동생에게 맡기고 잠시 시간을 내어 제주도 올레 10코스 중 일부를 걸었습니다. 제주도의 겉모습이 아니라 꾸밈없는 그대로의 아름다움을 즐기는 느낌이 좋았습니다. 언젠가는 내 마음껏 올레길을 걸을 수 있는 날을 기다리며 좋은 느낌을 가슴 속에 간직하고 돌아왔습니다.

아침에.. 숙소의 베란다 창을 열었더니 말들이 아침식사를 맛있게 하고 있었습니다. 아이들이 잠에서 깨기 전에 얼른 한 장을 그렸답니다.

Bukchon sketch

Wanted to go certainly once to Bukchon that is Known through several mediums.
Time does not fit 21st. Take the vacation and got back at there today.
Because there is no place to hide avoiding sunbeam more, picture described only one.
I try to go again if wind gets cool.

remodelling of Exhibition building for the history of Seodaemun Prison

I sketched at the site of restoring the buildings in seodaemun Prison History Hall located in Seodaemun. It's connected with the Seodaemun Independence Park which will be open soon.

The place will be good enough to visit for educational and historical purposes. Of course we, sketchers, can have many subjects to capture.
