Entering the village I went to the restaurant which opened very today. To gather customers and advertise its opening was there a show performed by singing-begger performer. People were enjoying by his comic gags and dance. I sketched him after having lunch at that restaurant. The village is said to be receveloped soon. I've plan to go there again before the demolishment begins. The village was beautiful surrounded with woods and hills.

How exciting to find nice views for sketching in the center of Seoul! Walked from the middle level of Namsan Circuit Road down to Namdaemun(South Grand Gate). Hope to sketch all together next month there! Though I've been living in Seoul over 50 years I'm surprised at finding the hidden places here and there. Very thrilling like a treasure-hunting game!

sketchcrawl at Doogsum Resort, Han River
What a wonderful scenery it was! Cloudy weather added some points on the riverscape. Sketchers were fascinated by the picturesque scenes formed by bridge, overbridges, new buildings, beautiful lawn, and people full of energy on the open flea market held on the ground. After sketching and having lunch at the nice restaurant 'Soman' located inside the so-called 'Looper' exhibition building, we went to the appointed frame shop and decided each frame and cost. Thanks all for participating and cooperating for the successful exhibitions!

sketching the wall painting students
It was on the spring festival on campus of Sejong University. Lots of parasols and tents were set up here and there on campus. On the wall of the playground were the art college students painting. I couldn't pass the spot without sketching them. Colorful sunflowers painted on wall were beautiful too. They would be proud of the mural painting when they pass it. It was a very special experience to me too. ( 30 x 40 cm, pen and watercolor)

discarded home appliances at A/S center
Yesterday my mobile phone showed some error message when I tried to take photo with it. I went to A/S center near my village. But the engineer said 'what matters?' handling it. No message was there any more and the camera worked well in his hand. I found this piled appliances at the corner out of the repairing room. I felt interest and drew this one.

sketches on a fine Sunday
at Sookmyung Woman's University, Seoul
It was a fine day. I started from Sookmyung Woman's University where located near Seoul Station. The campus was neat and occupied with new buildings built recently. Having lunch at drivers' restaurant located across the Hyochang Park I headed on to Chungpa-dong for a better view. I sketched a motor bike with the Namsan at a long distance. On my way to Son Gi Jeong Park I stopped to capture the sunlit awnings at Manri Market. The Son Gi Jeong Park was a good place to sketch surrounded by old houses and new buildings under construction. I could rest for a while under the big trees of the park hearing the merry sound from playground.

How nice the weather was after raining all the night! We enjoyed sketching and having zazangmyun at the corner of the church by the kind consideration of the staffs. The young priest of the church liked the sketches and suggested to inform on the church weekly about this sketching and our exhibit at the Songpa Library Gallery on June 26, 2011. We thanked for all the atmosphere of the church.
