Sketch meetup with Margo Bartley from Australia

Hi guys,

I hope you to spend happy Lunar New Year holidays!
I'm glad to inform you that we can have sketch meetup with Margo Bartley from Brisbane, Australia tomorrow, Feb. 17. If possible I expect we'll have more meetings during next week. We promised to meet at the main entrance of the Jogyesa on 11:30 am and will sketch around the temple. Wish anybody to join us during the sketching meetups!

어제 호주 브리스베인의 마고 바트리씨로부터 메일이 왔습니다. 일주일 정도 서울에 머무르는 동안 스케치를 함께 하고 싶다고 하셨어요. 조계사 근처를 잘 아시는 관계로 우선 조계사 일주문에서 만나기로 했습니다. 시간이 되시는 분은 누구라도 도구 지참하시고 나오시면 되겠어요.

The library was so big that we couldn't feel tired of finding subjects to draw all day. And far from the cold weather of -15 degrees outdoor was it warm rather. And chairs and desks located enough for both readers and sketchers here and there. Without any restriction from the guards we could enjoy sketching. Thanks for it. What I felt sorry was that I didn't go out of the library to sketch the shops in mall being fascinated by bright color and tall shelves full of books. I felt so glad to look at all those readers. Thank you all, the participants!

The weather has been bitterly cold the past few days. Last Saturday for the 58th World Wide SketchCrawl, it's hard to sketch outdoors, Seoul urban sketchers met at the Seoul Citizens' Hall(시민청) inside Seoul City Hall building. Seoul Citizens' Hall is housed in the two basement levels of Seoul City Hall. The hall has been renovated as a public area for citizens and visitors. Exhibition, performances, seminars, concerts, special events, and wedding ceremonies take place here all year round.  

It's a great place for sketchers to draw a lot of the amusing scenes regardless of weather. I sketched the vivid interior scenes including some musical performances with other sketchers. in an enjoyable atmosphere. We had a pleasant SketchCrawl in an enjoyable atmosphere!

어디라도 가서 스케치하고 싶은날~~

얼어붙는 추운 날이건, 눈비 오는 날이건,

서울 시민청은 언제나 모두에게 열려 있습니다.

교통 편한 곳에서 갖가지 공연과 퍼포먼스, 홍보와 전시, 

어린이 행사, 지구마을 카페, 도서관과 쉼터....

한 장소에서 골고루 그릴 수 있는 생생한 스케치 마을입니다.

Kids were writing the texts after hearing from their teacher.

In the B1 there locates shop and cafe where people can buy organic goods imported from east Asian countries for fair trade. 

In same floor we can meet Seoul book shop where citizens or tourists can buy books or magazines related with Seoul. 

When the flute players "Pan Ulim Ensemble(팬울림앙상블)" began to play an old man started to dance. People enjoyed the music and his dance too.

I used 30 x 21.5 cm sketchbook with pastels, pencil, pen, conte, and charcoal. Hearing nice music all the while sketching was great. We were glad to be inside on cold winter day. In the newly built Seoul city hall there are enough space for exhibiting, performance of music or dance, and educational purposes, etc. Office workers or old people gather to hear music at noon. Especially on weekends four times' different programs are played. We enjoyed sketching and healing ourselves through performances with people. 

While I stayed inside the city hall other passionate sketchers went to other places nearby. We shared all the works done at the same floor after finishing on 4:30 pm.

오늘 여전히 추운 날씨에 참여하신 분들께 감사드립니다. 장소 미확인으로 인한 감작스러운 스케치 장소 변경에도 불구하고 허탕치신 분이 안계셔서 천만 다행이라고 생각하며 감사드립니다.  시민청의 음악 공연 프로그람이 있어서 이색적인 스케치 기회를 갖게 되었고 아름다운 음악을 들으며 저절로 드로잉이 되는 듯한 착각도 들 정도였어요. 자주 공연자들을 그려야겠다는 결심을 했습니다. 오늘 두번째 순서에 댄스 공연 예정이었으나 팀원이 입원하시는 바람에 취소가 되어 좀 아쉬웠어요. 빠른 쾌유를 빌었구요. 정동 전망대와 종로타워로 스케치 나가신 분들의 열정에 감동했어요. 물론 멋진 작품들을 가지고 돌아오셔서 함께 감상하는 시간을 갖고 스케치를 마쳤습니다.

이번 행사는 제58차 월드 와이드 스케치크롤이니 그림을 올리시는 분들은 블로그 오른쪽에 있는 스케치크롤에 그림 올리는 방법을 참고하셔서 그곳에도 올려주시기 바랍니다. 좀 어려울지도 모르겠으나 한번 해보면 반복되는 것이라 할만 합니다. 외국의 여러 스케치도 감상하고 나누는 좋은 기회가 되리라고 생각합니다.

모임 장소 변경 사항 긴급 공지입니다

안녕하세요!
날씨가 너무 춥습니다. 건강히 지내시기 바라며 이번 주 토요일과 다음 달 스케치 모임을 안내해 드립니다.

1.  2018년 1월 27일(토) :  서울시청 신청사 지하 1층 시민청(시청역 4번 출구) 무대 부근과  서소문 시청 분관 13층 전망대, (스케치 작업시간은 오전 10:30 - 오후 4:30 까지이며 마침 모임은 시민청 무대 부근입니다.)

2.  2018년 2월 7일(수), 코엑스 별마당 도서관, 오전 10:30 - 오후 4:30

3.  2018년 2월 24일(토), 서대문 자연사 박물관, 오전 10:30 - 오후 4:30

겨울 한강을 그려보려고 한남대교에 위치했던 레인보우 까페를 스케치 장소로 정했으나 2016년 12월 부터 영업을 중지했다는군요. 미리 확인하고 정하지 못했던 점을 죄송스럽게 생각합니다. 새로지은 시청 건물 지하에 있는 시민청 무대에서는 매월 네째주에 '토요일은 청이 좋아'라는 프로그램을 오후 12시부터 4시 40분까지 진행하여 음악, 댄스 공연을 스케치 해볼 수 있는 좋은 기회가 될 것입니다. 서소문 분관 전망대에서 그리실 분은 분관으로 바로 가시기 바라며 그림 마침 모임을 시민청 무대 부근에서 정하기로 하겠습니다.

장소를 급히 변경하게 되어 매우 죄송합니다. 한남대교 까페는 다시 개장하게 되면 확인 후 스케치해보기로 하겠습니다.  감사합니다.

Happy to meet sketchers at the downtown sketching a landmark building, Jongno Tower! It was not cold but drawing over 30 minutes was not easy for numb fingers. Because it was a Saturday office floors were nearly vacant and we could enjoy sketching looking down the cityscape in a very calm mood. After having lunch we moved to favorite places each. We shared various drawings at 4:30 pm.

날이 좀 흐렸으나 몹시 추운 날은 아니었어요. 그래도 밖에서 그릴 때는 손이 곱더군요. 휴일이라 텅빈 건물을 오르내리며 조용히 그렸습니다. 새로 오신 박경숙님도 만나 뵈어서 반가왔어요. 재미난 시간 되었기를 바랍니다. 감사합니다.
