My name is Margo Bartley, I am a 68 yr old woman and I belong to Urban Sketchers Brisbane (Australia). I am living for the winter months in Hokkaido and I will be coming for an eight day painting trip from February 22 to March 2. I am staying at the Somerset Palace Seoul,7.Yulgok-ro 2-gil, Jongno-gu. Tel 6730-8888.
I would love to sketch with some Seoul urban sketchers if anyone is available while I am in Seoul. I am used to the cold as I live in a ski village. However, I have a health problem and can’t be in fluorescent lights. I am sure there are many places to sketch that don’t have fluorescent lights. I also love sketching people and have seen some interesting ones on your website.

I quickly sketched the company workshops enjoying 윷놀이 with foreigners at Yoyido CONRAD Hotel.
After the workshop, I sketched foreigners who took pictures of Korean drum performances.

동해바다
바다를 보러 간건 아니었는데..
강릉은 온통 바다였다
추위에 시려 더욱 푸르러진 겨울바다..
누가 좋아하든 말든
바다는 아랑곳하지 않고 그 자리에 있었다
땅속에 굳건히 뿌리를 내린 나무처럼..
가까이서 본 바다는 약간 화가 나 있는듯
으르렁거리기도,
새끼고양이마냥 까불고 뒤집으며
장난을 치는 듯도 보였다
어쩌면 한여름 방문객들의 웃음과 한숨에 지친몸을
추스리며 모처럼의 자유를 누리는지도..
겨울바다는 겨울산을 닮았다
쓸쓸하고...따뜻하다...
