sketch at Unhyeongung, pen, watercolor, 12 x 16 cm
I sketched this one sitting on the wooden floor under warm sunlight. I felt as if I were living there.

Seoul has lots of treasure as subjects for sketchers. And sketchers can bring them on small paper by a moment's attention with affection.

Sketching with Stephen Kopp from Australia (2)

Stephen Kopp, Acrylics

Stephen Kopp, drawing on fan, acrylics
A monk visiting the place asked him to draw on his fan.
The artist drew with acrylics with pleasure and presented it to him.
The monk was pleased with the drawing so much.

Susie Kopp was busy with knitting.

The following three sketches are of mine.

watercolor, pencil, 30.5 x 22.9 cm

What a pleasure sketching together at a nice place is always! Today was just like that. I went with my mother after my father's death last Monday. She needed rest and to forget the sorrow for a while. I thank for the kindness of Seoul sketchers and Mr. Mrs. Kopp to my mother. They'll leave Korea within days. Of course we promised to meet and sketch together whenever they come to Korea. Thank you all!

She offered two cups of coffee thanking for us to draw her shop, about which we thanked so much too. I presented my name card to her.

The Unhyeongung(운현궁) locates at Unni-dong had been the residence of Lee Ha-eung. He was the father of the 26th king of Lee Dynasty. It locates across Insa-dong, the famous traditional cultural street where many tourists visit to buy souvenir and enjoy Korean traditional culture. Unhyeongung is near the bigger palaces such as Kyeongbokgung, Changdukgung, and Changyeongung. We found the place was very beautiful with Korean traditional style buildings. And the snow heightened the beauty of the buildings more. Please visit here for reference. Thank you all!
