안녕하세요!

지난 7월 무더움과 장맛비 속에서 종로 그리시느라 수고 많으셨습니다.

전시를 앞두고 필요한 사항들을 회원 분들의 서울 어반 스케쳐스 블로그에 로그인하시는 이메일 주소로 보냈습니다. 참여자는 일단 종로 그리기 행사에 참여하시고 전시 참여 의사를 피력하신 분들로 정했습니다. 직장 일로 주간 행사에는 참여하지 못했지만 퇴근 후 야경을 그려서 참여하시겠다는 분들은 함께 했구요. 혹시 메일을 못받으신 분 중에 전시 참여하실 분께서는 이번 주 안에 그리신 종로 그림을 블로그에 올리시고 참여 의사를 표해주시면 안내 메일을 보내겠습니다. 그림 파일은 이달 말까지 큐레이터님께 보내기로 하였기에 이렇게 진행하게 됨을 이해해 주시기 바랍니다. 

남은 한 주일 건강히 보내시고 건국대역 커먼 그라운드에서 뵙기 바랍니다.

Yesterday, it was really hot and I felt I was sitting in steamed hot pot. I got off at Euljiro il(1)-ga with JJ and walked along Cheonggyecheon street until Majeongyo for 25 minutes. And met Jung-seob there, my friend who I met in Barcelona in Spain. It was his first time for joining USK and I hope he enjoyed this sketch meeting. JJ also much enjoyed it because he never walked next to Cheonggyecheon before. Looking forward to next sketch meet-up in Common Ground in next Saturday.

어제는 정말 더운 날씨였습니다. 찜통 속 더위라는 표현이 딱이었습니다. 을지로입구에서 버스에서 내려 마전교까지 청계천을 따라 김재진님과 25분 가량 걸어갔습니다. 오랜만에 정섭을 만나 일단 시원한 음료수를 마셨습니다. 본격적인 스케치를 시작하기 전 준비운동이라고나 할까요. 정섭은 작년 스페인 바르셀로나 여행을 가서 만난 친구입니다. 광고회사에 다니는 이 친구는 긍정적이고 매사에 활발해서 오늘이 처음 모임인데도 잘 어울리더라고요. 역시 걱정할 필요가 없었습니다. 김재진 님도 청계천 주변을 걸어본 적은 처음이라고 하시더군요. 건대 커먼 그라운드는 이전에 한번 가 본적이 있는데 요새 뜨는 이색 문화공간답게 즐길 거리가 꽤 많았습니다. 다음 주 모임도 기대가 됩니다.

With William and Sojin at Cafe; Coffee Bean

It's rainy in every weekend and now I am starting to enjoy walking in rain. We decided to draw in cafe; Coffee Bean locates in the end of Samcheongdong street because of heavy rain outside. I liked the part of vivid yellow color in my sketch and realized I missed drawing rainy drops there. Maybe next time..!

비가 오면 웬만해서는 나가지 않던 제가 요즈음에는 빗속을 걷고 심지어 그림까지 그리는 것을 즐기기 시작했습니다. 매 주말마다 비가 오는데도 스케치 모임 덕에 매번 나가다보니 어느새 옷 젖는 것쯤은 오히려 시원하다 여길 정도에요. 비가 오다 말다 해서 건너편 건물이 보이는 카페 창가 자리에 앉아 William과 소진 언니와 함께 그림을 그렸습니다. 개인적으로 제 그림 중에 쨍한 노란색 부분이 마음에 듭니다. 그런데 비가 오는 것을 그리고 싶어했는데 나중에 보니 빗방울 그리는 것을 잊었더군요..! 빗방울 그리기는 다음 기회를 노려 봐야 하겠습니다.

 I have been skeching the DDP(Dongdaemun Design Plaza) building for years. DDP is located at Eulji-ro, Jung-gu, which is huge and unique landmark in Dongdaemun History & Culture Park. Yesterday, usk Seoul members had sketch meeting along the Cheonggyecheon Stream that runs to Dongdaemun Gate. The weather was so hot and humid, I sketched DDP building and surroundings looking down at the top of the 13th floor inside of DOOTA building across the road. So I could see more elements at the same scene that I sketched before. I worked one piece in watercolors and another in 4B pencil having a different feeling. Thanks to all the participants in the hot weather.

DDP빌딩의 거대하고 특이한 형태와 주변 모습들은 많은 스케치 요소를 담고 있으며 오래전 건축현장부터 많이 그려왔습니다. 13층 높이에서 본 장면은 종전보다 더 많은 원근감과 새로운 스케일감을 느낄 수 있었습니다. 펜, 수채그림과 연필데생의 다른 느낌도 재미있었고.... 머나먼 지역에서 스케치하러 오신분을 포함하여 무더위에 참여하신 모든 분들께 깊이 감사드립니다.

Though it didn't rain it was just like a boot camp training by heat with high humidity. I went to roof top, 8th floor of Doota Tower but I couldn't stand even a minute and retreated to the inside and went up to 13th floor where I could find a nice spot with great view. I did two pieces there. 

At 4 pm we met on the Majeon bridge over Cheonggyecheon. I really admire the sketchers who had accomplished sketching outdoor on the spot. Much thanks!

오늘 비가 올줄 알고 우산도 가져갔는데 비는 안 오고 후덥지근한 날씨가 제대로 찌더군요. 두타에서 두점 그리고(물칠은 보안 요원이 와서 제재하였고 서서 그렸음) 계획했던 동대문 역사 문화 공원행은 접었습니다. 4시에 마전교에 여러 스케쳐들께서 모였어요. 새로 오신 김정섭님 반가왔습니다. 그리고 김제에서 기차타고 오신 최현주님께도 감사드립니다. 자주 뵙기 바랍니다.

북한산이 보이는 마을

 

강매역에서 창릉천을 쭈욱 따라올라가면 북한산이 나온다.
올초 겨울날,
김밥을 싸들고 4시간 정도를 걸어서 지축역에
다달았을때 한번 꼭 스케치 해보고 싶은 곳이다.

하늘엔 잠자리
물속엔 물고기때 들이 다리를 간질대고,
시원함에 시간가는줄 모르고 스케치를 한다.

물과 하늘과 내가 하나가 되는 듯 그림도 제 색감을 찾았다.
