King Sejong's statue located in Gwanghwamun Square at Sejongro

This morning I read an article in Chosun Daily Newspaper about the launching of Korean-language guide service in the great museums such as the State Hermitage Museum, the Louvre Museum, and the British Museum. It was possible by the efforts of Korean Air chairman and CEO cho Yang-ho. So Korean visitors can enjoy appreciating art works in the big three museums in Korean language. The article says that the chairman had felt sad when he had found no Korean-language guide service in famous sight spots of Europe 40 years ago at his youth. That experience might have made him search mutual communication in culture by carriers and supporting the museums.

Thanking for his achievements I post the above drawing of King Sejong who created Korean scripts of our language for the people on 1443 who couldn't use Chinese letters easily for its difficulty in learning.

at Sejong University and CGPark

At first I draw the main gate of Sejong University. The Korean style roof looked contrasted with the building under construction on the left.

Building for students was under construction near to completion in my thoughts. Contrast between the sunlit old building and the wrapped building under construction caught my eye.

I met Kim Mi-kyung and her cute daughter at CGPark. Weather was like spring. We'd a nice time. I sketched her riding the camel. How brave she was!

전시안내 엽서 위에 그렸지요 행동반경이 늘 집과 화실만 왔다갔다 하다 보니
크게 움직이지 않아서 그림 소재를 잘 못찾겠네요(게으름 때문에)

라벨 정리

오늘 라벨 좀 정리했어요. 그림 사이즈 적히거나, pen and watercolor 가 두개 있어서 보니 and 와 watercolor 사이에 칸이 두칸이어서 그렇더군요. 아니면 콤마를 찍어야 하는데 점을 찍는다거나 해서 같은 내용이 두개가 되는 경우도 있었구요. 작가의 이름을 일관되게 멤버칸에 적힌 대로 통일해서 써야 라벨이 쓸데 없이 늘어나지 않구요. 스케치크롤(sketchcrawl)은 앞으로 통일시키려고 합니다. 이화 유니버시티도 스케치크롤로 정리하려합니다. 아무래도 늘어나면 늘어나지 줄어들기 어려워서 가급적이면 공통된 것은 묶는 것이 좋을듯합니다. 라벨에 스펠쓰실 때에 한번 더 확인하면 공연히 의미없이 라벨이 느는 것을 피할 수 있겠습니다.

I sketched this one in the alley of Chongro 5-ga. There were many eating houses for the merchants and visitors.

This one was sketched inside the coffee shop we had coffee after sketchcrawl.

I enjoy the sketchcrawl with participants every time.
