I took a photo at the guitar shop.
Though it was a humid, hot day 11 participants came for sketching including three new comers, Kim Sang Deuk, Kim Kyung Min, and Park Ji Woong, who were greeted warmly by all other sketchers. Inside the arcade it was cool by air-conditioning; so we could enjoy sketching on 2nd and 3rd floors. The arcade locates near Insadong, the traditional cultural street where many galleries are clustered. And close to the arcade locates Tapgol park where the Independence Statement was announced on March 1st, 1919. Thank you all the participants!

For our sketchers, Hwasu Wharf is one of the most attractive place in old town Incheon.
There were plenty variegated subjects, such as the fisherboat and the ironworks, moreover the memoried sceneries of the old aged village. Each time I visit Incheon, I amuse myself by sketching this and that freely at the harmonious wharf.

ladies at bus
young and old ladies at a bus, 17 x 28 cm, felttip pen and watercolor, pencil
On the way coming home from swimming center. I sketches these ladies. I started from the yellowish hat of the right woman. After that the white haired lady caught my eye because the white and silvery hair looked elegant rather than the dyed hair in black at that age. Young woman and kid were added. It's good to sketch at bus or subway for they're airconditioned very cool in hot days.

.
The traditional architecture alive is the very subject to practice the sketchwork. As a matter of fact, a few historic remains in the downtown Seoul are very valuable properties for our urban sketchers.

an old lady selling vegetable
I saw her at Nogbeondong street on the way going to Gaemi(Ant) Village located near Hongje Station for sketching last month. The vegetable looked so fresh that I would have bought some if I were going home. While I was sketching, a man passing by looked down at my sketch. Being encouraged by his praise I asked him to take a photo for me. He said " Wow how did you know that I'm a journalist of newspaper?' It's another pleasure to communicate with people about sketches.
