서울도서관 열람실에 들어갔는데 

계단에 책을읽는 사람들이 가득했어요. 

모두 책에 집중해서 신경도 안쓰고 정말 그리기 편한 모델들이었어요.

A watercolor painting in Chungdong First Methodist Church ( 정동 제일교회), Jung-gu, Seoul

Last Saturday, the fall weather was so fine for sketching. I visited Jeongdong Street (정동길) for sketching with Seoul urban sketchers. Chungdong First Methodist Church is Korea's first Protestant church built in 1897 by Appenzeller and constructed with red brick, country Gothic style. The church is located in the center of the beautiful Jeongdong Street, and is especially beautiful in autumn, when the leaves fall from the trees that line the street. And the shadow of external brick wall of the church varies from hour to hour rhythmically.
I was impressed by the attractive scene, and painted in watercolor standing up in front of the church half a day.

 "Jungdong First Church." The weather was cold, but with a passion for sketching hot day than any day. And like many things about the greedy big worry was the watercolor was a meeting that was.

It was a very cold day. Five sketchers gathered: Lee Yong Hwan, Lee Jeong Kun, Park Jea Wook, Kim So Hyoung, Yoo Byung Hwa. Jeong-dong street was covered with colored fallen leaves and crowded with people to enjoy the beauty of autumn. We had pleasure in seeing and drawing them too. Thank you all!

늦가을의 추운 날씨에도 정동길은 여전히 아름다운 낙엽을 즐기려는 시민들로 붐볐어요. 저희도 그들과 함께 즐겁게 그림도 그리고 좋은 시간 보냈습니다.

sketches of building under remodelling and Seosomun apartment

I sketched this scene with yellow colored ginko tree stood near a building under remodelling at Sunhwa-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul.  Yellow and blue, red car caught my eye though the weather was gloomy with cloudy air.

The oval shape of the apartment between rectangular buildings looked nice and fresh in spite of old age over 40 years.

요즘 거리가 너무 아름답습니다. 정동과도 가까운 서대문사거리의 순화동에서 스케치했습니다. 커다란 경찰청건물 옆의 서소문 아파트가 멋졌습니다. 40년 넘은 건물이 그 휘어진 모양으로 오히려 세련된 느낌을 주었구요. 자주 가고싶은 장소로 찜해두었습니다.

Korea Outdoor Watercolor Arists' group(한국 야외수채화가회) runs painting program on every Sunday in the countryside.The group held seasonal open and close events semiannually, and numbers of artists gathered to enjoying the festive meeting. 

Sometimes, I joined in the meeting and painted lively scenes including familiar figures.

갈 때 마다 반가운 얼굴들과 현장 느낌에 고무되어 살아있는 장면들을 많이 그립니다.
