서울숲옆 UnderStand Avenue에서...

이번 어반스케치 모임은 집 가까운 서울숲근처에서 열렸다.

처음 보는 회원들도 여러분 같이 하니 분위기도 업되는것 같고

인파가 많으니 바글바글 구경거리도 그릴거리도 많고

It was too hot last Saturday, Seoul usk members met at Under Stand Avenue (언더스탠드 애비뉴) located between Seoul Forest (서울숲) and Seoul Forest Station. Under Stand Avenue, made of 116 recycled colorful containers complex, is attracting locals and tourists in eastern Seoul. The complex serves as a creative public cultural space for teenagers, artists, local vendors and small brands. There is also an outdoor stage for cultural performances, local community organize special events and various workshops every month. The very day we visited Under Stand Avenue, it was market day once a month on 4th Saturday for the food and beverage produced by urban farmers. The street mall was full of open-air shops with temporary colorful tents and crowded people. Unfortunately many stores and unique restaurants on the 2nd floor rooftop were under renewal construction, we couldn't help sketching outdoors on the ground level in search of the shadow.

I sketched the lively scenes of the crowded market with colorful tents and streetscape including nearby buildings harmonizing with moving cranes. It was a very exciting sketch time despite the summer heat.

컨테이너 명소인 언더스탠드 애비뉴~~ 

커먼 그라운드에서의 "광장"분위기와는 달리

"스트리트 몰"과 숲이 어우러진 새로운 느낌입니다.

예기치 않았던 "장날"과 "대형 리모델링 공사"로

2층에서 보는 좋은 각도의 입체적 장면을 못 그렸지만

땅 레벨에서 보는 번잡한 시장 모습과 하늘을 덮는 천막,

사이사이 보이는 율동같은 모습과 시시각각 변하는 그림자...

스케치 현장은 "가변성이 있고 예측불가"라는 것도 매력적입니다.

社会的な脆弱階層の自立を支援する公益空間

Understand = Under +stand

It means that the vulnerable people  get a strong support for their independent.

This space provides various jobs and cultural complexes  for the socially weak elderly, unemployed youth, and children. 

It is a social contribution project between Seongdong-gu and a large corporation. 

This area are consists of 116 colorful containers.

언더스탠드에비뉴는 성동구와 대기업이 

함께 기획한 프로젝트로 사회적 공헌사업입니다.

사회적 약자인 노인,실업청년,저소득층 어린이들에게

다양한 일자리와 문화공간을 제공하고 

  스스로 자립할 수 있게 돕는 

공익적 복합문화공간입니다.

우리가 마신 커피 한 잔,

시골에서 상경한 농부가 키운 채소로 만든 도시락은

수익금이 다른 이들을 돕는데 쓰입니다.

성공한 도시재생 프로젝트로 많은 도시와 

기관들이 벤치마킹한다고 합니다.

예쁜 상품과 맛있는 먹거리를 즐길수 있는 것도

 이곳을 찾는 큰 즐거움이겠지만

의미를 생각하며 즐긴다면 더 좋은 공간이 될 것 같습니다.

Sketch meet up JUN 23, 2018
Understand Avenue has an open market once a month.
Today was the very day.
Various foods made from fresh vegetables and food products grown by local farmers are sold in there.
We made our own sketches of the Understand Avenue market scenery in the crowd.
We also had delicious lunch made of organic ingredients.
And we had a good time with the new members.

마침 어반스케치하는 날이 오픈 마켓이 열리는 날이었어요.
사람들로 생기넘치는 언더스탠드에비뉴
뜨거운 날씨였지만 기분 좋은 하루였어요.
