Though it was so cold outside the inside the observatory tower was warm by sunlight enough to be there without strong wind. The view all around the tower was wonderful by clear weather,  ships in rows, and islands far. And I could see the Incheon bridge and Yeongjong bridge through telescope. I spent three and a half hours there. Citizens or tourists came to see the scenery from time to time. The old man in wheelchair was one of them and showed interest in drawing and told that he was learning literary paintings, kinds of oriental style painting.  He was there reading newspaper for an hour and left saying 'bye' to me just after I drew him.

at Incheon wharf, Incheon city

pencil, watercolor, 32 x 24 cm

pencil 8B, 13.5 x 21 cm

Today I went to Incheon wharf. Weather was very good, shiny and breezing. I took a place beside a truck for a handful of shade when I sketched the first one. Though I saw the second scene at first I sketched it later because I didn't carry water, so I tried it just before I left the wharf. There was no place to hide from sunlight. But it was autumn anyhow. I could finish the second one. It took 20 minutes from drawing to washing. The first one took one hour to finish.

at Incheon wharf, Incheon city

pencil, watercolor, 24 x 32 cm

When I have enough time to come and go to Incheon wharf I choose Incheon wharf for sketching. It took nearly three hours to arrive at. But when I stand on the wharf seeing the sea and ships it's compensated making me excited for sketching. I brought two pieces of paper remained in the block which I chose considering the permitted time to stay there and to lessen the weight of the bag. It blowed harshly as always from the sea. I took a seat in steps leaning on the wall of the wharf. It was very warm like a shelter being protected from the wind. I could finish two safely without worrying the flying paper or falling wash-water cup.  I hope to find more shelters like this next time.
