Jeoldusan Martyrs' Shrine is one of the famous historical sites remaining in Korea. It's located on the banks of theHan River on the east side of the Yanghwa Ferry Point crossing, the top of a small cliff rises high. The construction of the Shrine began on 1966, the 100th anniversary of the Pyong-in Persecution, and was completed in 1967. 103 Saints were canonized on 1984.
A few days ago, I visited the Shrine and drew some sketches with a reverential attitude.

So many candles were lit by the prayers beside the Saint Maria. The Jeoldu Martyr's Shrine was originated by the intense persecution on 1866. The martyrs died at the place for the belief. The church building was constructed on 1967. 103 Saints were canonized on 1984. Now many descendent believers go on a pilgrimage to remember the saints' martyrdom. . It became a season of entrance exam for university. Many of the flaming candles might be for the examinees, I guessed.

The Gaemi Maeul(Ant Village) is famous for the beautiful village located on the hillside of Mt.Inwang. What is more, this village is favorably situated in downtown Seoul, so it's possible to sketch frequently for us. The weather was so fine, we could be enthusiastic over sketching all day with a rural atmosphere.
