오는 4월 21일에는 제 59회 월드 와이드 스케치크롤 행사가 있습니다.

일시 : 2018년 4월 21일(토요일), 10:30 am - 4:30 pm
장소 : 홍은동 옥천암과 주변
모이는 장소: 옥천암 종무소 앞

금일(3월 24일) 점심 식사중에 예정했던 장소는 우천시에 어려움이 있을 듯하여 위와 같이 변경하였습니다. 세검천, 홍은 고가, 주변의 산들과 어우러진 풍경과 초파일을 위한 연등 장식이 아름다울 듯합니다. 관심있는 분들의 용기있는 참여를 기다립니다.

Sketches at the Gocheok Sky Dome

This month we had a sketch meetup at Gocheok Sky Dome. Weather was a little cloudy and cold. Because today was an opening day of the baseball people gathered from the morning. It was said that the tickets would be sold from 12 o'clock. Before buying ticket I drew two in front of the dome. Last year I visited the dome several times for sketching. But nobody could be able to capture all the features around the building. Having lunch at the food court in B1 we entered after 2 o'clock. Wow most of the seats were full even in outfield! But it was warmer inside so we could enjoy the exciting game and sketching together. Hearing the shouts of cheering pen kept running on the papers. I wondered how the people could endure the winter season without baseball games. Baseball lovers will have happy times till the Korean Series ends. 

오늘 날씨가 여전히 쌀쌀하고 흐리고 해서 밖에서 스케치하기에는 좀 추웠습니다. 12시 지나서 비록 외야지만 표를 구입할 수 있어서 좋았어요. 점심 전에 밖에서 두장 그리고 2시 지나 들어갔는데 벌써 외야도 거의 찼더군요. 간신히 자리 잡고 몇장 그렸습니다. 긴 겨울을 어찌 기다렸을까 싶으리만치 야구 팬들의 함성이 굉장했어요. 덩달아 기운이 난다고나 할까요. 

오늘 새로 오신 변석현 선생님 반가왔습니다. 자주 참여해 주시기 바랍니다.

어려운 날씨에 참여하신 여러 스케쳐 분들께 감사드립니다.

서대문 자연사박물관 그림 나들이

아직은 추위가 물러가기 전 설레는 마음으로 서대문 자연사 박물관에 어반스케치 그리기 나들이를 했지요

 버스안에서의 그리기는 여러가지로 어려워요 

눈치도 보이고

 원래는 멋지게 생긴 녀석을 제대로 표현 못해줘서 미안~

 이 아이들과 같은 시대에 살지 않은것만 으로도 행운이지요

두 아이가 좀 더 떨어져 있는데 그림 목적상 엉딩이를 붙여놓았더니 좀~~

Sketches at Jongno Book Store

Days ago I visited Jongno Book Store located at the B2 in Jongno Tower. It was early in the morning after 10 am. A big table for readers was vacant but five compartments for one were full. People seem to like their own space even in big book store. I used pen and pencil. The above 2nd drawing was of a woman opposite of my seat. These days there are coffee shops inside a book store, which couldn't be imagined at my young age. Readers can recharge their phone or notebook, etc while reading in bookstore for free. A notice is on the table : Please bring one book once.

며칠 전에 종로 타워에 있는 서점을 갔습니다. 일찍 갔더니 큰 테이블은 거의 비어 있었는데 개인용 좌석은 금방 차더군요. 그 부분이 늘 이색적이어서 그려봅니다. 펜과 연필로만 그렸습니다. 과거의 서점 모습과 많이 달라져서 좋습니다. 자유로이 보고 싶은 책을 가져와서 읽을 수 있으니 감사할 따름입니다.

Seodaemun Museum of Natural History

집에서  그리  멀지 않은  서대문 자연사 박물관에  갔습니다.   입장료가  좀  비싸다 (?) 하며 들어 갔었는데.... 나올때는    응... 받을만 하구나  라는  생각이  들었습니다.   학교에서  이론으로만  배우고  무작정  외우던  돌멩이들,  화석,  실물같은  모형들,  기타등등    볼것이  많았습니다.  그래서인지,  견학온  아이들이  너무 많아  좀 산만한  분위기  속에서 그림을 그려야 했습니다.  그래도  다른곳에서  볼 수 없는  여러가지  소재들을 경험할 수 있어서 좋았습니다.

          Last Saturday, l went to the Seodaemum Museum of Natural
          history to join the S.U.S.
          It was small and complicated. Because the place is for children .
          There are so many fossils and bones of animals ,especially
          dinosaurs seemed popular with children .
          I almost got exhausted by the noise but it was a new experience
          to draw fossils and bones ...

          안산을 오르락 내리락 하며 익히 보았던 서대문자연사박물관을
          서울어반스케츠모임으로 가게 되었다
          좁은 공간에 특히 어린아이들의 공부장소이다보니 무척 혼잡하고
          시끄러워서 나중엔 쉴 수 밖에 없었다.그러나  화석과 동물의 뼈를
          그리는 것은 색다른 경험이었다.
          무궁무진한 소재.다양한 표현..스케치의 매력을 다시금 실감!!

The weather became warmer than early February, but it's still cold outside. We usk Seoul members met at an interesting museum for urban sketching last weekend. Seodaemun Museum of Natural History is the first public museum of natural history in Korea, located in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul. Opened in 2003, the museum displays the origins of life on earth through a variety of real specimens of minerals, rocks and fossils, and through models, including life size models of dinosaurs, from all over the world. 

A few years ago I visited the famous museum several times and sketched a lot of exhibits in my spare time. The museum was crowded with children, their parents and student group at all time. Most of all, the exhibits of dinosaurs drew attention from visitors overwhelmingly. I sketched and colored the dynamic scenes inside the museum and some exhibits including large dinosaur skeletons with an "inquiring mind".

서대문 안산기슭의 공공 자연사박물관은 산 교육장이자 가족쉼터로서 일품입니다.

지구의 탄생부터 생명체의 기원, 인간과 자연의 관계를 생생하고 실감나게 재현한 모습을

무궁무진하게 스케치하며 탐구할 수 있는 "전천후 소재박물관"이라 하겠습니다.

볼거리  그릴소재도  많은    자연사  박물관!
어릴때나  어른이된 지금도   흥미로운곳인것 같다.
주말이라  사람들로  정신이  없었지만   새로운 소재를 그려보는  즐거움이  있었다. 또한
건물 창 너머에는     바람부는 추운날씨에도  장사하시는  모습이 인상적이었다.

We visited Seodaemun Museum of Natural History.
I was a little hard because there were many people on weekend.
The giant sea whales and dinosaur bones hanging at the entrance were interesting objects to sketch.
Still, it was interesting to be able to draw materials that I would not normally draw.

입구에 걸려있는 거대한 바다고래와 공룡뼈는 스케치 하고 싶은 흥미를 돋구는 오브제였습니다.
주말이라 사람이 많아서 조금 정신없었던게 아쉽지만
그래도 평소에 그려보기 힘든 소재들을 그릴 수 있어서 재미있었습니다.

Though it goes to March it was not easy to sketch outdoor. The museum was big and easy to go up and down stairs by ramp and elevator. The museum went crowded as time went by with families and students. Years ago I visited there for sketching too. So this time I tried to draw different things. Ammonite on ceiling caught my eye. And the roe deer looked good. To draw the animal was not easy even though they don't move but the visitors passed so often hiding my sight. Benches were helpful. And the volunteers and keepers didn't say any looking at sketchers. It was thankful.

서대문 자연사 박물관은 어린이 들이 좋아하는 공간같습니다. 그러나 거대한 공룡의 뼈나 마모스등을 그려보는 좋은 공간입니다. 오늘도 날씨가 차가왔는데 참여하신 스케쳐 여러분들께 감사드립니다!
