2019년 2월 모임 안내 / 이케아 고양점

다가오는 2월에는 우리의 전통 명절인 설도 있고 봄도 멀지 않아 몸과 마음이 가벼울 듯합니다. 그러나 아직은 밖에서 하루 종일 그림그리며 지내기는 어려울 것이라 따뜻한 실내 쇼핑 센타로 정했습니다.

날짜와 시간 : 2019년 2월 18일, 월요일, 오전 10:30 ~ 오후 4:30
장소 : 이케아 고양점(IKEA Goyang)
모이는 곳 : 2층 레스토랑(링크된 그림에서 5)이며 오후 4시 30분에 같은 장소로 다시 모여 적당한 곳으로 이동하겠습니다.

워낙 큰 매장이 열려서인지 초기에는 평일에도 인파로 북젹였습니다. 그래도 판매용 소파가 많아 앉아서 스케치하기 좋았습니다. 어반 스케치에서 빼놓을 수 없는 대형 매장을 요모 조모 다루어 보는 유익한 시간이 되었으면 합니다.

I visited this Market last winter for our regular U.S.K meeting. 

At that time, I was attracted to drawing things together .

So, i drew various colors of threads in the tall holder, (i also

drew a women ,merchant of cloth repair,in front of sewing                          machine ) the bags of various types and sizes ,the large and                        small suitcases and more.

But this time i couldn't find them. I guessed, maybe the

arrangement of the shops has changed.

So i drew several pieces of 'Youth's 1' (청춘 1번지) which is

a part of Seoul Folk Frea Market.

It , the materials of  old fashioned, music and the scenery                            of  the stores ,reminded me of my youth .

Many people looked enjoying their old days like me.

This place was good for seniors, but some patients

brought their children to tell the life of their youth.

And this Market is good for drawing in winter but

it's also a good place to draw outside, the snack cart,

the street vendors, merchants, customers, visitors....

Perhaps next time l hope...

           

             

            거의 일년만에 다시 찿은 풍물시장은 조금 변해 있었다

            작년겨울, 모여있는 것들에 매료되어 있던 나는 재봉질하는 수선가게

            여인,높은 홀더에 꽂혀 있던 색색의 실타래,크기와 용도가 다른

            다양한 색상의 가방들 ,모자들을 그렸다 .하지만 이번엔 아마도 상점배치가

            달라진 탓인지 찿기가 힘들었고 대신 풍물시장의 한 파트인 '청춘1번가'

            에서 여러장을 그렸다 .그곳은 추억소환장소인양 많은 방문객들이 자신들의

            옛날을 얘기하며 때로는 자신의 아이에게 그 시절을 설명하기도 했다.

            그곳은 겨울스케치에 최적이나 바깥풍경도 휼륭하다.노점상.상인과 오래된

            물건들.. 다음에는 야외 스케치를 기대해 본다

     

Sketches at the Seoul Folk Flea Market

I began with this scene of pairs of socks, shoes, men's jackets hung on the column. 

I asked this man who was selling and repairing bags whether I could draw him(Yang Jo-Wook) using his stool. He permitted with a smile. And he told me that he was an oriental painter and showed me his figure paintings which were great. We kept talking about his life for painting till I finished this one. It was meaningful time and rare. 

Contrabass and accordions

While I was drawing this one a woman began to sound with a accordion next to me. I stopped this one and tried to sketch her. After finishing her playing I added colors to this one again.

Accordion player, Kang Eun-Ja, kept playing while I was drawing her. Those pieces were so good to hear and the passengers stopped to see her play and to see my work too. All of us might not forget the happy time we shared together. I thanked her too. 

People can buy every kinds of paintings. Oriental, western, big and small...

I tried to go out to capture the street sellers and customers. Big scale stone sculptures were stood in rows. And it was so crowded as much as inside. 

We had the first meetup this year at the Seoul Folk Flea Market. It was a usual cold day of January. But inside temperature was good enough for sketching. Merchants told they refurbished the ceiling for better environment. It was good to see the market develop day by day. The food court space was divided by transparent doors from the selling zone And the covered ceiling kept the indoor temperature warmer. We could feel the distinguished features clearly for we visited after one year for sketching. We thank for the participants despite of cold weather and hope to meet again soon. 

아직 추운 날씨에도 불구하고 참여하신 서울어반스케쳐스 여러분들께 감사드립니다. 새로이 변모하는 서울풍물시장 덕분에 따뜻한 실내에서 즐거운 스케치를 하였어요. 항상 활기 넘치고 재미있는 공간이 있어 든든한 마음입니다. 새로운 마음으로 참여하신 분들께서도 자주 만날 수 있기 바랍니다.

  이렇게 추운 날에는 도서관에 틀어박혀 책을 쌓아놓고 뒤적거리는 것이 으뜸입니다.
  점심을 먹고 눈꺼풀이 천근만근되어 이겨내기 힘들 때는 눈을 붙혔다가  불현듯 놀라 깨면 눈앞에는 저절로 스케치북이 열리게하는  장면들이 나타나니 현몽인듯 싶군요.^^

LOS ANGELES 끄적끄적

섣달 즈음에 로스앤젤러스에 가서 형님네 식구들과 어울렸습니다.
올드 패서디나의 옛거리, 멋들어진 집들의 크리스마스 트리 장식과
게티 미술관에서 인상파의 진품 그림과 월트 디즈니 미술관의 해링,
워홀, 로리히텐슈타인의 현대 아메리카 미술을 본 것말고는
숨막힐 듯한 다운타운의 역겨움 속에 질식하고 말았습니다.

잠깐잠깐 혼자 있는 틈에 끄적끄적!

스케쳐스님들의 댁네에  새해에도 복만이가 자꾸 찾도록 빌게요.

Drawings in buses

I began this drawing with pen and finished with pencil at the back seat of the bus #7022. 18 x 25.5 cm

A woman in summer season was done quickly with pencil. 18 x 13 cm

Mom and kid is an attractive subject for they're a symbol of a family with lovely poses.

Quick figure drawing

Sometimes I try to draw the inside of buses with different features.

I like to draw people or inside structure of buses. Not a passenger is same in faces or clothing. I use pencil or pen usually. Pencil is easy and useful to finish pen drawings with value. Yesterday I did the first one after a long time. I use small one less than A 4 size in bus in most cases. Drawing in buses give chances to exercise figure drawing in a very short time interval with simple materials. 

어제 모처럼 버스에서 한장 그렸습니다. 늘 그려야지 하는 마음만 있고 선뜻 종이 꺼내기가 쉽지 않습니다. 연필이 제일 만만한 재료이고 펜으로 휘리릭 그린 후에 시간이 있으면 연필로 마감하기도 합니다. 독특한 모습의 승객을 만나면 시간과 장소가 아쉬운 때도 있구요. 평범한 우리의 일상이기도 한 버스에서 그림 그리기를 열심히 하는 새로운 한해가 되었으면 바라봅니다.

Seoul Urban Sketch The December meeting was held at Mecenatpolis, located in Hapjeong-dong, Seoul. It was so cold that I looked at a part of the building outside the coffee shop. The steps of people walking in the middle of a building falling from the top. The real urban sketch is to convey the feeling of what you feel while breathing a space together on the spot. 2019년 1월 모임 안내

벌써 한해가 저뭅니다. 쏜살같이 흐르는 세월에 한점 한점 그림을 그려나가며 스케치로 서울을 알리는 일에 참여한다는 것에 커다란 힘을 얻으시기 바라며 내년 1월 모임 내용을 공지해드립니다.

오후들며 매우 혼잡할 것으로 예상합니다. 날씨가 좋으면 건물 밖의 거리 시장도 좋습니다. 시장도 구경하고 그림도 그리시고 기억에 남을 날이 되었으면 합니다. 아울러 아쉽게 남은 며칠 잘 마무리 하시고 복된 새해 맞이하시기 바랍니다. 감사합니다.

항상 궁금해했었지만, 이제서야 서울어반스케쳐스 모임에 처음 참석하게 되었네요. 주말에 바쁜 프리랜서인 관계로 월요일에 하는 행사가 이렇게 반가울 수가 없었습니다.

자주 지나가는 합정역임에도 그림으로 기록하는 메세나폴리스의 풍경은 또 색다른 느낌으로 다가오더군요. 새로운 분들과 반가운 만남을 해서 더욱 좋았습니다. 비록 날씨는 조금 쌀쌀했어도 그림에 대한 뜨거운 열정을 배워가는 하루였습니다.

앞으로도 자주 찾아 뵙도록 할게요*
