It was a real fine day. I started on 7 am from home and arrived there before 9 am transferring buses four times! I could capture the entrance looking like a castle gate. After meeting sketchers on 10:30 am we walked into and were busy to enjoy and draw here and there. People with kids came to participate some programs. There seemed a wedding in open garden. What a good smell from the grills for the wedding buffet!

Taking rest in fresh air and drawing beautiful features was the best present for us to have spent hours to go there. 

어제 매우 좋은 날씨에 아름다운 공간에서 쉬며 함께 그림 그렸던 순간이 멋진 추억으로 남을 것 같습니다. 기억은 흐려질지 몰라도 애쓰고 그렸던 그림은 남아 희미한 기억도 생생하게 살려 주리라 생각합니다. 많이 먼 장소임에도 참여하신 스케쳐 여러분들 반가왔습니다.

이번달 어반 스케치를 위한 모임 장소는 파주 체인지업 캠퍼스이다.
종전의 영어마을과 경기 평생교육원이 통합하여
4차산업의 변화를 주도하기위해 유아부터 성인까지 아우르는 평생 교육기관으로 다시 태어난 체인지업 캠퍼스다

처음 가보는 길로 시간을 넉넉히 잡아 예정보다 조금 일찍 도착했는데
몇몇분이 벌써 자리잡고 그림을 그리고 계시는 모습이 보인다.
몰두하고 계시는 모습이 참 아름다운 분들이다.
안내 desk에서 guide book을 챙긴다.

아주 이쁜 가게들이 늘어서서 나르 어서 그려 주세요 하고 새단장하고 손짓하는 것 같다.

거의 완성 즈음에 점심을 같이 먹자고 권하던 스파게티집에 서 오븐 스파게티를
먹었다 치즈그 듬쁙 들어가 먹진 스파게티요리로
식사하고 게시던 회원 분들과 서울시내에 멋진 장소의 정보를 공유했다.
혼자보다 함께여서 참 좋다.

 market street를 지나  main street로 접어드니 멀리 시청건물과 물줄기가 시원하게 뻗는 
분수 관장을 지나니 야와 공연장과 학생 숙소동이 즐비하다.

  시간 가는 줄 모르고 그리다 시간을 확인 하니 벌써 4시가 훌쩍 넘었다.
  서둘러 정리한 만나기로 한 장소에 가니  벌써 다들 오셨다. 죄송!!
  제일 신참이 제일 늦게 왔다.
  서둘러 그림들을 모아 사진찍고 단체 사진 찍고 ~~~

 같은 방향의 회원님의 차를 편승하여 집에 오니 5시30분이 훌쩍 넘었다.   
 그림을 그린 다는 것은 무엇일까? 
 풍경을관찰하여 화폭에 담는다는 것은  어떤의미일까?
결국은 아는 것만큼 보이는 것 만큼 사랑할수 있고
보는 방법을 배운다는 말이 떠오른다.

그림을 보며,미소를 그리며,오늘도 행복한 시간임을 내게 말하며 하루를 정리한다.

2019 일본 자전거 여행 ( Japan bicycle touring for 50 days)

  3월 일본 남쪽 시코쿠 오헨로 순례길을 따라 자전거여행. 

꽃샘추위, 비바람과 외로움에 절었었지만 추억 속의 전차를 보며 벚꽃과 온천, 따뜻한 사람들을 만나 마음추스렸답니다.

 자전거 길의 성지라는 시마나미카이도를 건너고 큐슈의 동백꽃 흐드러진 바닷가를 따라 아소산으로 가는 야마나미하이웨이를 넘어 나가사키에서 오리지널 참폰(짬뽕)으로 마지막은 후쿠오카에서 원조 돈코츠 라멘으로 가슴적셨습니다.

          이번여행의 컨셉은 ' 차린 밥상에 숟가락 하나 더 놓기'
          팩키지는 내키지않고 해외혼행은 자신잎없던차, 동생모녀의
          짧은 여행에 얼른 숟가락을 얹었다
          뒷설거지는 내가 하리라..자처하면서.
          호텔,항공,여행지,이동..오랜만에 남이 차려주는 여행밥상을
          받는 기분이 황홀하기까지 ㅎ
          또 하나의 컨셉은 ' 따로 또 같이 ' 숙소까지는 동행,
          그다음 부터는 각자 하고싶은대로,쉬든지, 관광을 하든지
          혼자가든지,따라가든지..
          결론적으로 모녀는 땀을 흘리며 열심 다녔고 연로한(?) 나는
          게으른 베짱이. 살짝 이국적인 공기를 느끼는 것으로 만족..

          부랴부랴 나서긴 했지만 역시 말레이시아의 기후는 여행객의
          발목을 잡는다.때로는 뜨거운 태양으로,때로는 스콜로.
         그래서인지 특이하고 이쁜 카페가 여기저기 많이 흩어져있다
          맛집전문 조카덕에 들른 다양한 카페와 식당,싸고 편리한
         그랍택시,친절한 현지인들 ,가성비 좋은 호텔..
          잠시의 일탈지로 충분히 매력적인 도시.
          앞으로도 이 여행방법을 잘 활용해봐야 할듯~~
         

       
         

Samjigil - urban sketch

I enjoyed the Urban sketch at Ssamjigil in Insadong on the last weekend. 

The 5th floor of Insa Art Center is the great place to sketch the Samjigil.

I finished the sketch at Insadong and went to Jogyesa temple and sketched Buddha's day preparing.

날씨 좋은 주말 에너지 넘치는 홍대 공연 거리 에서의 urban sketch.

홍대는 정말 다양한 젊은이들의 에너지가 넘치는곳이고 사람들의 다양한 모습을 빠르게 스케치하기 좋은 곳이다.

I went to Hongdae last week and enjoyed people urban sketching. Hongdae is a great place to draw a people in motion. 

Especially armature's street singing and dancing are always crowded with various people.

There were so many people in front of performance.  

I stood in the back and quickly sketched various people.

Weather was very fine during the weekend holidays. Visiting the Lake Park at Ilsan city was very cool seeing all those beautiful flowers in Goyang International Flower Festival. And I enjoyed the music and dance performed by the Indio Band Cusco from Ecuador held at the ground. Lots of people were excited by the colorful costume and wonderful music playing. They applauded and donated voluntarily. The festival will be continued till May 12. I went there two times but sketching was not easy for their so complicated costume and kinds of feathers on head. But it was very beautiful. 

Seosomun apartment is one of my favorite sketching places for its oval shape different from linear or tower type apartments in Seoul. It was said to be built 45 years ago over the stream. Beyond the problems of its redevelopment of the site the area is loved by photographers or painters. 

I visited the Change Up Campus(former English Village) yesterday. Though it was blowing the place was still wonderful. I captured some here and there. The 'village' seemed to be vacant yesterday. It was a real relaxing day. 

황금 연휴에 이곳 저곳을 다니며 시원함을 즐겼습니다. 고양 꽃 박람회가 열리는 호수 공원에서 인디오 밴드쿠스코의 공연을 보며 오랜만에 귀와 눈이 호강했습니다. 긴 겨울을 지내고 예쁘게 핀 꽃도 보고 시원한 호수가에서 바람 쐬며 쉴 수 있어 좋았는데 여러 가지 악기와 화려한 복장의 공연은 금상첨화로 다시 가보고 싶을 정도입니다.

서소문 아파트 가본지가 여러 해 되어 설레임을 안고 방문했습니다. 모습은 여전했지만 길이 많이 다듬어 진 느낌이었어요. 45년의 오래 된 아파트로 여겨지지만 아래층은 까페나 식당이 들어서서 마치 유럽의 길거리를 보는 듯합니다. 하천 위에 세워진 약간 휘어진 아파트가 해의 움직임에 따라 변하는 모습은 정말 놓치기 아까웠어요. 사진찍으러 많이 오는 장소로 스케쳐들도 자주 방문하면 좋겠구요. 

전에 영어마을로 불리웠고 저희도 그곳에서 모임을 했으나 작년 5월 부터 체인지 업 캠퍼스로 명칭이 바뀌었다합니다. 종전에 있던 입장료도 없어지구요. 합정역에서 2200 빨간 버스를 타고 한 시간 정도 달려 내렸어요. 횡단보도가 좀 떨어져있고 신호등이 없어서 조심해서 건넜습니다. 많은 인파가 연휴로 여행을 떠났는지 그곳은 매우 한가하더군요. 바람이 좀 부는 날씨였으나 따뜻한 햇살 아래서 몇장 그렸습니다. 전에 가볼 때 가지 못한 곳을 둘러 보았어요. 나무들이 많이 자라서 그늘이 좋았습니다. 

바쁜 5월의 연휴 덕분에 이곳 저곳을 다니며 나름 즐거운 시간을 보낼 수 있어 좋았습니다. 할 수 있을 때 하고 걸을 수 있을 때 걸어 다니자는 마음으로 지내고 있습니다. 5월의 마지막 토요일 25일에 파주에서 뵙겠습니다.

Previously we visited billiards clubs one or two days for sketching and seeing the games. But this time we went to the hotel four times because the PBA(Professional Billiards Association) Tour Tryout was holding during 11 days from Apr. 21 to May 1. While visiting there we could see lots of games between famous players and unknown great ones aged from twenties to sixties. Especially I could get the sign from the oldest player Mr. Jang Sung-Chul(67) who was called as a legend of Korean billiards history. And the famous player Mr. Jung Gil-Bok signed for me thankfully. While seeing the games and sketching we clapped for the nice scenes and sighed at the losing game by one or two points. 

Additionally we could find that lots of people including caster and commentator liked to see us sketch and felt so happy to receive a sketch from YH Lee. They hoped that such cultural events could happen in billiards game fields as in other sports or festivals. 

Sketching brought a new start with a young judge who was directing the disabled billiards players for years. He addressed us what for we've been sketching. We explained about urban sketching and sharing them with people. He asked us to draw those players when the game to open once a month. He let us know the home page(Korea Billiard Association For The Disabled). Sketching seemed to bless us by meeting nice people and making us see the world in deeper and wider viewpoints.

Thank you all the players and related staffs for the big tryout games! We enjoyed the best.

지난 며칠 간 일산 엠블 호텔에서 처음으로 열리는 프로 당구 투어를 위한 선수를 뽑기 위한 11일 간의 경기가 열렸습니다. 처음부터 가지는 못했으나 나흘간 뒤늦게 참가하였어요. 물론 요즘 재미있게 하는 당구 게임도 보고 스케치도 할 요량이았습니다만 너무나 출중한 선수들의 경기에 입을 다물지 못했음이 사진에서도 보입니다. 수백명의 후보 선수들이 초긴장을 하며 경기를 하는데 숨도 크게 쉴 수 없으리만치 손에 땀을 쥐게 하더군요. 한점 차이로 승자와 패자가 갈리는 것은 어찌 보면 우리의 인생 다반사에서 일어나는 일이겠습니다만 지난 번에 잠시 대화 나누었던 젊은 선수가 1부 투어에서 탈락하게 되어 참으로 아쉬웠습니다. 그러나 며칠 가는 동안 전설로 불리시는 장성출 선생님과 인사 나누고 사인까지 청해서 받고 했던 일이 기억에 남습니다. 스케치로 인해 장애인 당구 대회가 열린다는 것도알게 되었고 날짜가 되면 꼭 가서 스케치해보고 싶습니다. 그들의 투혼도 배우고 싶고요. 

스케치로 인해 만나게 되는 사람과 대화, 그리고 또 다른 세계에로의 열림도 인생을 깊게 만들어 주는 것같아 감사할 따름입니다.
