Seoul City Hall

The stone building of old city hall and glass building of new city hall shows the trend of each era, and I think it is a workpiece that shows gap of the era and history of two building.
The old city hall went through sudden change of history, on the other hand I tried to sketch the new city hall, hoping to be seen bright growing future.
By the view from old city hall stairway, I could see the round grass plaza and tall hotel buildings and on the middle of that Namsan Tower and Namdemun.
On the 5th floor of old city hall, I could see the glass wall of the new city hall by close. It was interesting to see the crowded buildings from the higher place.
The jazz performance by JEON je-duk band was like an ice coke that makes the summer cool.

구청사의 석조 건물과 신청사의 유리 건물은 그 당시의 각각의 트랜드를 반영하고 두 건물간의 역사의 간극을 보여준 멋진 작품 같앗습니다.
구청사가 우리나라의 격변의 역사를 겪었다면 신청사는 투명하고 밝은 성장을 하기를 바라면서 스케치를 했습니다.
구청사 입구 계단에서 바라본 관경은 둥근 잔디 광장을 중심으로 높은 호탤 건물이 서있고 그 틈사이로 남산 타워와 남대문이 멀리 보였습니다.
구청사 5층에서는 신청사의 유리벽이 가까이 보이면서 빌딩 밀집지역을 보니 재미있었습니다.
오후 전제덕 밴드의 재즈 연주는 여름을 시원하게 식혀주는 청량제와 같았습니다.

beautiful announcer Moon So-Ri who gave us a time to introduce Urban Sketchers' activity thankfully

It was raining all day in rainy season. Thirteen sketchers joined us. We were lucky to sketch inside the city hall enjoying various kinds of events under the title of "Play Seoul" held by city hall. Newly built city hall and former old building gave lots of drawing subjects. For the Art Festival(Jul 24 - Aug. 6, 2015) event lots of paintings and sculptures were exhibited on lobby for citizens. I drew some and enjoyed music and dance held from three o'clock. City Hall helds such program 'Love city hall on Saturday' on last Saturday every month for citizens. Though it rained we enjoyed all the shows and cool space in city hall.

어제 종일 비가 왔습니다. 그래도 시청사 안은 각종 회화 작품과 문화 체험을 하려는 어린이와 시민들로 붐볐어요. 오후 세시부터 열리는 음악 프로그램에서 다양한 밴드의 음악과 드로잉 쇼를 보며 스케치할 수 있어 더욱 즐거웠습니다.

48th Sketchcrawl at Seoul City Hall

 오전엔 시청 9층에 있는 하늘정원에서 실내 풍경을 그렸어요.

 서울 시청 건물(신청사)은 특이한 외관과 주변 건물과의 부조화 때문에 말들이 많았었는데 제가 방문해 본 느낌으로는 사무용 건물이라기 보다 하나의 큰 예술작품 같은 느낌으로 그 곳에 머무는 동안 즐겁고 좋았어요. 업무용 공간으로서의 효율성은 떨어지겠지만 시민들에게는 휴식의 공간이자 놀이의 공간으로서의 기능이 큰 것 같아요.

 점심먹고 나서는 (점심 때 단체 사진 한 장 찍을 것을! 언제나 지나고 나서 후회.. ㅎㅎ)
예전 서울시청건물이었던 서울도서관에서 도서관 풍경 한 장을 그렸어요.
그리고 도서검색대에서 제가 만든 그림책 <아빠는 놀이터>가 있나 검색해 봤죠.
없더군요...
그래서 회원증 발급 받아서 희망도서신청을 하고 왔답니다. ^^

 다시 시민청으로 가서 공연을 관람하면서 뮤지션 모습을 몇 장 그렸어요.  오늘 아나운서가 유병화샘을 무대로 모셔 짧은 인터뷰를 했었는데 ( 아! 그 장면도 사진으로 남겨놨어야 하는데.. 역시 뒤늦은 후회.. ㅎㅎ) 서울어반스케쳐스를 홍보할 수 있는 기회여서 좋았어요.

 그리고 공연 끝나고나서 관람석 정리하시던 스텝 한 분이 "저 어반스케쳐스 알아요. 시민청에서는 유명해요."하시더라구요.
  우리의 활동에 관심 있는 분들이 주변에 많다는 걸 오늘도 느꼈습니다. ^^

 스케치 모임 마무리하기 위해 카페에 모였습니다.

 그림을 서로 보여주고 보면서 격려와 칭찬을 주고 받았죠. 오늘은 모두 열 세 분이 참가하셨는데.. 지금 또 생각나네요. 단체 사진 한 장 찍을 걸.

48차 World wide sketchcrawl 서울시 신청사 그리기

밖엔 하루종일 장마비가 쉼없이 내리고
휴일을 맞아 한적한 서울시 신청사 1층로비엔
방문객을 위한 휴식공간이 자리하고 있었습니다.
의자,자판기,핸드폰충전기,급수대,4대의 컴퓨터등....
난 의자에 앉아 컴퓨터가 자리한 모습을 담아보았습니다.

오후 3시부터는 지하1층 시민청엔 방문한 서울시민을 위한
공연이 열렸습니다..
신나는 아프리카 타악기연주에 어울어진 현란한아프리카춤의
한마당.
아트 퍼포먼스,조그만 하모니카의 열정적인 연주등.
관객들의 어깨가 절로 들썩였습니다.
관람석 뒷벽에 철퍽 주저앉아 관람객의 뒷모습과
하모니카 연주자의 모습을 담아보았습니다.

서울시 청사에 시민들을 위한 문화공간이있고 시민을 위한
많은 행사가 있다는 사실을 알게 되어 기뻤습니다.
다음엔 앞쪽에 자리하여 무대모습도 담아 보고 싶습니다.
그리고 많은 사람들에게 이런 행사가 알려졌으면 좋겠습니다.

It was a real humid day on summer rainy season. We finished our small exhibition located underneath the Gwangjin bridge of Hangang(Han River). Whenever I visited the gallery I had to come out of the exit no. 2, Gwangnaru station. Near the junction I could see a kiosk where a couple kept boiling corns selling other snacks. I like boiled corns so much and couldn't pass it. When I came home I bought some there. He seemed to boil them properly in a good taste. And I felt that I had to draw the kiosk before the ending day of exhibit. Today I carried out my duty to sketch it. And on my way coming home I bought some. It was very cloudy and rainy from time to time on bridge. I tried to draw two more inside the gallery using watercolor and conte pencil. Thank you again for visiting!

오늘 전시 마지막 날이었어요. 흐린 날씨에다 빗방울까지 오락가락해서 전시 끝나기 전에 그리려고 했던 다리 위의 작은 정원 모습은 결국 못그렸어요. 역시나 미루어서는 장담이 안된다는 것을 깨닫고 전시장 안이 그래도 시원해서 안에서 내다 보면서 두장 더 그렸습니다. 가며 오며 보았던 광나루 역 2번 출구 가까이에 있는 옥수수 삶는 아저씨 가게를 꼭 그려보아야지 했는데 오늘 마지막 날이라 더 미룰 수 없어서 점심전 무더위 속에서 한장 그렸어요. 오늘도 집에 오는 길에 옥수수 몇자루 사왔구요. 무더위에 옥수수 삶는 아저씨 내외분의 수고에 맛나게 먹으며 왔답니다.
