sketches at Daehakro & Hyehwadong, Seoul
Arco Arts Theater, Daehakro, Dongsungdong, pencil, watercolor, A 4
House of Chang Myun(1899 - 1966, Ex-Prime Minister, Ex-Vice President), Hyehwadong, Seoul, designated on 2007 as Cultural property of Seoul City, pencil, pastel, A 4
It was a hot day. But the sunlit red brick buildings at Marronnier Park, Dongsungdong were beautiful. It was meaningful to be able to sketch the private house of Chang Myun, which was designated as cultural property of Seoul on 2007. I went inside the house. Main building was of Korean style house and the annexed building for the visitors and secretaries was not of traditional style, but of compromised one.

.
The old and new buildings are harmonized each other well. And what's more, these structures are located on Sejongno, right in the heart of downtown Seoul.

The Seoul Children's Grand Park is most suitable place to sketch various subjects, such as animals and people or diverse buildings surrounded by greens. Last Saturday was comparatively clear weather, so we had a pleasant sketch time with enthusiastic work all day long. We are looking forward to join with new comers. Glad to see you!

I began painting on 1995. I sketched my son and his friend playing at my home on 1999. I'm not sure how far I developed from that level of 11 years ago. I love my old drawings.

Korean language
King Sejong's statue located in Gwanghwamun Square at Sejongro
This morning I read an article in Chosun Daily Newspaper about the launching of Korean-language guide service in the great museums such as the State Hermitage Museum, the Louvre Museum, and the British Museum. It was possible by the efforts of Korean Air chairman and CEO cho Yang-ho. So Korean visitors can enjoy appreciating art works in the big three museums in Korean language. The article says that the chairman had felt sad when he had found no Korean-language guide service in famous sight spots of Europe 40 years ago at his youth. That experience might have made him search mutual communication in culture by carriers and supporting the museums.
Thanking for his achievements I post the above drawing of King Sejong who created Korean scripts of our language for the people on 1443 who couldn't use Chinese letters easily for its difficulty in learning.

at Sejong University & Children's Grand Park
Today I went to Children's Grand Park and Sejong university. One can see the Students' Association Building is under construction in the road. It seems to take over a year to be completed. At park I saw a man and a lovely kid sat on a bench. The paths at park were covered with colorful leaves all around. So Beautiful was it!
