It was shiny and warm. I kept sketching a couple on a boat and the wall which showed the trace of the ebb and tide of the sea. Though the structural components of the wharf such as old wall, bridge, boats are same but the features they make are different every time. While I drawing the boat it keeps moving to and fro. The various scenes never disappoint me. 

오늘 모처럼 인천에 다녀왔습니다. 날씨도 좋았고 마른 재료로 따뜻한 곳에 앉아 드로잉을 많이 하였구요. 언제나 생명이 넘치는 곳, 인천은 저를 실망시키지 않았습니다. 작은 배에서 굴을 까는 부부의 모습도 아름다왔습니다. 

two buildings overlap together

While passing by Insa-dong street, I came across an impressive scene two buildings harmonized united together. The small building is Chundogyo's Central Headquaters (천도교 중앙대교당) with brick built in Gothic and Baroque style, and another large one is Sueun Assembly House Building (수운회관) with concrete built in modern style architecture. Two historic buildings are well-matched together beautifully. So I took my seat in a good view point and sketched the harmonious scene carefully.

천도교 중앙대교당과 수운회관 건물은 같은 장소에 있으면서도
크기, 재료, 건축 양식, 배경, 상징성.....에서 전혀 다릅니다.
두 건물이 떨어져 있으면 서로 대비가 되는 좋은 소재이지만
겹쳐 그려도 조화를 이루는 컴포지션이 될 듯 합니다.

Walking the Jeong-dong street I saw a table and chairs with long legs in front of the Macada coffee and sandwich shop. I sat in the wooden bench set for the customers and drew this one. The most beautiful street in Seoul looked wonderful with colored leaves still. The street makes people feel good, better and the best. 

아름다운 정동길에서 스케치 한점했습니다. 다른 많은 아름다운 풍경은 다음 모임에서 그리려고 남겨두었구요. 정말 좋은 길입니다.

이웃도어 용품점에 신제품을 반응보러 나왔다가 스케치 했습니다. 

가을산과 나무는 제가 표현할수 없을정도로 아름다웠습니다.

Walking Jongno-gu I could find lots of interesting scenes because the district has been the center of Seoul long since the Joseon dynasty (1392 - 1910). Palaces, museums, galleries, important government buildings...and lots of citizens, tourists are there. Especially at Insa-dong locate lots of souvenir shops and cafes. Restoration, redevelopment, and remodeling is undergoing here and there. Though I've been living in Jongno-gu for decades of years there are so many hidden places to me. I start to walk expecting to meet something new. 

종로는 그 긴 역사만큼이나 거리에 나서면 늘 새로운 장면을 만나게 됩니다. 종로에서 산지가 수십년되었지만 재건축, 리모델등으로 늘 새로운 장면을 만나게 됩니다. 관광객,시민이 즐겨찾는 인사동은 더더욱 활기가 넘치구요. 모처럼 버스로 지나치던 빌라를 스케치해보았습니다. 성처럼 생겨서 접근이 이려울 듯하지만 그림으로야 얼마든지 담을 수 있으니 그 또한 스케쳐가 갖는 특권이라고나 할수 있을 듯합니다. 

sketching with Outdoor Watercolor Artists' group

Last Sunday morning I joined in the members of Korea Outdoor Watercolor Artists' group for painting watercolors.The fall weather was so fine to enjoy outdoor paintings. We left the parking lot of Apgujeong Hyundai Department Store for Chiljangni village located in Ahnsung City. A picturesque image of the buildings opposite side of the parking lot impressed me. And the rural atmosphere with natural sceneries in the countryside attracted me peacefully. The both places supplied good subjects to me. 

I drew some sketches here and there enjoying the good air with the group in a long time.

가끔 전원 스케치를 하는 것도 어반 스케치에 크게 도움이 됩니다.
맑은 공기, 넓은 시야, 들판에서의 호연지기...자연과 교감하는 좋은 기회이지요.
모처럼 전원 마을 수채화를 그리러 정든 野水會 회원들과 함께 가을의 정취를 즐긴 하루였
습니다.
작은 스케치나 큰 작품 모두 열정의 깊이가 같고 소중한 것이 작가의 자세라고 느낍니다.

토요일이지만 "han강"에 나와서 신제품 홍보행사.

비가오는 느낌을 표현하지 못해서 아쉽지만 스케치와 채색에 느낌을 조금 배운것 같아 기분좋은 하루입니다.

After lunch, I dropped in for tea at McDonald's located in Jongno-2ga, Seoul. While drinking a coffee, in the seat facing me many people were talking with somebody in different poses. 

I sketched the figures immediately before leaving their seats.

커피숍에서의 정형 인물 스케치는 약속된 포즈와 달라서 

처음 보는 사람이 언제 떠날지 모른다는 긴장감 속에서~~

크게 그리고 싶은데 그리다보면 작아지니.....

걸음마를 막 배운 병아리가 하늘을 보며 날아가는 꿈을 꿉니다.

가을에 흠뻑 젖어들다..

지난주말 양수리에 있는 두물머리에 다녀왔습니다.

요즘 바쁜하루하루를 보내고 있었는데 오랜만에 여유를 느낀 하루였습니다.

두물머리가 경치가 좋다는 얘기는 많이들었지만 역시 명불허전!

가을에 흠뻑 젖어들었습니다.

마음이 편안해지는 어느 기분 좋은 날입니다..
